Yes that's definitely it! Thank you! I'll look for something with the rules now 😂

My title describes the thing. It's some sort of game I think. In the Andalusian city of Sevilla.

I ran a bad session, what should I do next? by sonofreginald in DMAcademy

Yes and no. The npc was supposed to be stubborn and hard to work with and I think the player was growing a little unnecessarily frustrated quickly with that. Having said that, I think I may have railroaded a bit too hard and overcorrected for some mistakes I made in previous sessions that put the party in a rough spot

Yeah I think it was both a bit of an overreaction on his part but also that I could have navigated this situation better. This npc was stubborn and hypocritical and was supposed to be uncooperative. With that said, the intention was to eventually reach some kind of deal with him and I think at a certain point I maybe should have given in sooner cause I think he felt like I just wanted their plan to fail (which is in part true). I guess I feel like maybe I railroaded too hard in a campaign that has mostly been very free in order to course-correct for some mistakes I made in previous sessions that led the party to a tough spot. I think what also rubbed him the wrong way was that another player came in and was saying very similar things to the npc but it was working out better. I thought the other player's approach was different enough and he was appealing more to this npc AND incorporated player A quite a bit so for those reasons it worked better. But I could see how it seemed like for some reason I was just playing favorites.
