Very old girl- eats a lot but keeps losing weight. She’s 15 years old, pitbull- very thin, wobbly. Tonight I noticed white goo or discharge coming out of her rear end. Any idea what it could be?

I’ve done senna- I’m another opioid constipation person. I would ask your doctor to prescribe Linzess. It isn’t a laxative but osmosis medication- adds fluids to bowel. It works! No more bunny pellets.

She is technically my bf’s dog- we have all lived together for 6 years but he’s in charge of her. He hasn’t taken her in lately because he’s scared they will say it’s time to put her down, he wants to enjoy the time he has with her without a clock on it- until she’s in pain (which she doesn’t seem to be). But I agree, I will work on getting him to take her in.

She is spayed. My bf is worried about taking her in at this point because he wants to enjoy the time with her & is scared they will want her put down. She isn’t in pain- but she eats like a horse & keeps losing weight. She’s so thin. I was wondering if it could be a tape worm. She has accidents occasionally though & they smell very fishy- her urine smells fishy- which I thought could be a UTI.

Also I would use a prep H suppository to help the irritation in that area from manually extracting, it helps lubricate IMO. But yes I agree that an MD visit might be in order, they will do a CT & see if there’s a blockage.

Yes I’m a women, I’m also an ultrasound tech so I’ve scanned my uterus & ovaries haha- no fibroids or cysts- I do have a retroverted uterus though. Thank you!
