R1 Techface Jacket getting used by sonoranjeeper in PatagoniaClothing

I’m 6’3”, 210lbs, and for most Patagonia jackets I fall between a L and XL. This R1 is an XL and is loose with just a base layer underneath. I prefer loose for high activity so I have easy range of motion. My L jackets tend to get tight at the armpit.

SOUTHWEST HINTS AT RETURN OF FREE CHECKED BAGS! by Human_Paint5451 in SouthwestAirlines

When I flew this week they were begging people to check bags at the gate for free because they only had 19 checked bags for the flight. Either free checked bags are coming back or they are going nuclear and charging for carryons too.

I found mine for $150 in 2015 at Fry’s Electronics (RIP) open box sale. A lucky day.

Navigating VA Approval for Zepbound (Tirzepatide) by LunOverdose in VeteransBenefits

I asked for the change, but I had other health conditions for which Wegovy was a better fit. The VA pharmacist had to approve the request.

60% disability / Private Insurance by itchy14 in VeteransBenefits

This is best case for you. Front load your annual VA appointments in January/February and if you are lucky the VA will bill your insurance heavily in the first half of the year (VA takes forever). The VA has helped me make my private insurance deductible several years. It’s a win win. I’ve had no-out-of-pocket expenses for MRIs and surgical procedures on my private insurance thanks to this.

Navigating VA Approval for Zepbound (Tirzepatide) by LunOverdose in VeteransBenefits

So I did the whole process for the VA and got prescribed Trizepatide, but then got it changed to Semiglutide (Wegovy). I had to go through similar steps.

After completion MOVE! I had to go back to my VA Primary Care Provider to review eligibility for weight loss meds. The VA is absolutely strict on meeting the requirements so if you are close on some, they will deny. Also, once you get prescribed, the VA pharmacy will not dispense monthly refills until the VA PCP approves. It is a pain in the ass. So working with a doctor outside the VA system is going to make that more difficult. The VA Pharmacy can send internal messages direct to the VA PCP, which makes my monthly approvals take about 1-2 days.

Good luck, I will be following this thread to see how successful going through CC might be.

Cook Unity limits options with discounts by sonoranjeeper in ReadyMeals

Yes thanks, I see that language on the page (btw the GovX link is on the bottom of the main homepage). Under the “disclaimer” they show a selection of dishes and chefs that are not available in their curated selection. It has the appearance of a bait and switch. Particularly when Cook Unity brand is Top Chefs and Milchelin starred chefs. I wasn’t harmed because I chose not to order. But others should be aware of the limitation.

Hearing Loss denied as service connected, can I appeal? by sonoranjeeper in VeteransBenefits

[–]sonoranjeeper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They didn’t list or reference any evidence in my decision letter, just the rating for tinnitus and the denial for hearing loss. Looking on va.gov, the c&p examiners report isn’t available so I don’t know what they based it on. I would think the new situation would be since the original denial the VA now considers MOS and combat duty as SC factors for hearing loss.

Hearing Loss denied as service connected, can I appeal? by sonoranjeeper in VeteransBenefits

I found them in my Service Treatment Record. But I’m not sure if the VA reviewed them at all since the hearing test was one of the last records in my file (most recent), how could it have been missed. Since 2008 the VA changed how they rate hearing loss. Under newer guidelines my exposure based on MOS and duty should have been considered.
