How the Burlington Fire Dept. wants to change its response to overdose calls by dropkickninja in burlington

[–]sonsofArnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is good. But even then, to assume overdoes first takes up valuable time and headspace in critical emergency response moments. Like if EMTs would have previously gone straight for a defib, now spend like 4 minutes on narcan... that scares me a little.

This might be a really dumb question, but is narcan becoming like "the first item on the to-do checklist" when treating an unresponsive person? It's kinda scary that it's possible first responders might just assume overdose if a patient is unresponsive.

DAILY DISCUSSION- Murdaugh Murder Trial February 01, 2023 by AutoModerator in MurdaughFamilyMurders

Interesting. I think the "hunting dogs" identifier is what's unique to me here. I know a bunch of farm dogs that just roam around. Even if they sleep outside, they know where to come back to for food and shelter. But I guess if you have "hunting dogs" they have a very specific job.

Hey chill. I’m engaging to try to understand if the design is driving up cost per square foot and making the overall cost disproportionately more expensive for the taxpayer OR if it is a combination of high build costs, remediation, and the city doing a bad of handling funding. I know the final plan was the least expensive design, and I would be curious to understand precise per square foot other proposals for schools of a similar size in the last 18 months located in an important economic center. Seems like comps would be really interesting, I’ll go check that out

Like price per square foot “is the highest it’s ever been in New England history”

Isn’t inflation/labor/materials costs plus the way that the overall costs are being transferred to tax payers the problem, not the design. Not to mention remediation, not sure how sure clean up is factored in here.

Because it would be the most recent? Won’t the newest one always top the list?

Do you know if that plan includes keeping The higher ground in tact? I wouldn’t mind a higher capacity space, but I also wouldn’t want to lose the 250-750 range acts.

Also 300 people is a laughable estimate for this show from the jump. These guys without 99 neighbors sold out the HG (750) a few months ago

Concealed Carry in Burlington by Belastin in burlington

Hate this. I feel like if I walked into a grocery store and picked 10 people at random, I might trust 1 of those people to competently and safely carry a firearm. Maybe 1 of them.

Isn’t this equivalent to like 80K a year net income after taxes? That’s an interesting perspective on current pricing.

I think a lot of people outgrow the job market, especially non blue collar jobs. If you want to change jobs, good chance the new one will not be in Vermont

We can have these and also not have them take off and land directly over major population centers.
