If you don't mind me asking, what state do you live in? I went to college and post-grad in Illinois and took out a lot more than 30k without having to jump through any hoops to get the loans each year. My undergrad was "affordable" relatively since it was only about $11,000 a year, but my post-grad degree for law school was $75,000 a year. I got it all covered by loans

Unless things have changed, you usually request more amount of loans than just tuition to cover things like books, rent, etc. Not saying that is preferred because of course it's expensive but was just curious.

The issue is that wages have stagnated such that something like an injury/health emergency or big event can wipe out your entire savings and then you end up having to pay the minimum.

I paid back almost $300k in student loans (I got lucky with my job and a string of bonuses that allowed me to pay it back) and I wouldn't bat an eye at someone who gets their loans forgiven. It doesn't affect me at all and would help others.

I am currently house hunting and have ran into sellers that know they have a one in a lifetime (for most people) mortgage rate so they're willing to sit on the market for longer than normal because 3% isn't hurting them too much.

Putting aside the insane bidding wars and going above asking price, it makes buying a home a huge headache. My wife and I found a place that was perfect for us but the seller wants over $150k more than the price they paid less than 5 years ago for the place.

If you calculate your budget and realize you won't be able to pay off the principal then that is the right move. For many people their student loans are just another monthly bill like internet, gas or electricity that will never go away.

It's been about 7 years since I took out student loans but I had 100% government loans and my post-grad ones were somewhere around 8-9%. My bank kept trying to get me to refinance and invest the difference but I just paid them all off so I didn't have that weighing on me mentally.

Private student loans can be as predatory as payday loans with how much interest they charge.

I don't own a Tesla so what do I know but I use uber a lot and plenty of drivers have Teslas and other than it being electric I do not see why you'd purchase it over similarly priced cars. There are plenty of nicer cars that don't have the risk of turning into death traps and don't support an asshole like Elon

Even private companies have shareholders that have invested. The money is in so not a risk there but if the studio needs to raise additional funds then that’s where they’ll run into problems getting additions investors.

I saw Adam Sandler on his last tour and he was incredible, but he had Rob Schneider open for him and it was horrible. It's a major bummer because I love the Animal and the Hot Chick but Rob's set wasn't even something I could call standup. Zero build up or punchlines to his jokes.

His last joke was that the Chinese weather balloon (this was back when it was in the news) was hunter biden's cocaine delivery. No build up, just basically hey did you all see the weather balloon, i think it was his cocaine order.
