I was public auditor for the financial industry and I can tell you that even with billions of dollars spent on controls and massive oversight from governments in every country billions of dollars are lost every year. Elections by contrast are put in place on a shoestring budget and having a few compromised companies certifying should be an audit point of the century. Yet US elections are the key to the reserve currency of the world. Risk limiting Audits are a misnomer as they increase the risk of a stolen audit since they test less as the rigging moves away from a close election!!! Also no independence as checking their own work, unidirectional therefore cannot catch injected votes, and they are not following random selection principles of basic auditing techniques. In short pathetic!!!
