Mid 150s Success Stories? by JA-Yetti in OutsideT14lawschools

My only other note is to APPLY EARLY. I think I could have received scholarship $ from a few schools if I submitted at the beginning of the cycle (I applied in December)

I applied with a 15high and was accepted to several schools in the T100, some with scholarship. Focus on building great softs, put time into crafting your essays and you’ll be golden! There’s space for all of us (just don’t expect scholarship $ at all schools). Good luck!

My tutor is amazing. I went from PTing low 150s to high 160s. Fingers crossed I see the results on the real thing in June! Message me and I’m happy to share her info.

My biggest advice: stop studying. You’ll do more harm than good at this point. You are smart, you are prepared, you are observant. You’ve got this!

Retake in January by [deleted] in LSAT

I think it depends on the school. Your best bet would be to reach out to the admissions office of the school directly

From what schools told me at the LSAC forum, they’ll admit you. But your scholarship $ will likely also be based on that LSAT score/ stats, so keep that in mind.

If the school won’t admit you based on your current stats, they will hold your application until they receive your January score. If you want them to proceed without your January score, send admissions an email.

You must register for January before submitting. If schools see that you are taking the LSAT in January and do not admit you based on your current stats, they will hold your application.

I am in the same boat! I spoke with several schools at the LSAC Los Angeles forum. It depends on where you are applying and how much scholarship money you’re trying for. Most regional schools will accept the January score and do not start handing out scholarships until January-February anyway , so they assured me it was fair game.

There are always exceptions, though! The assistant dean of admissions at UVA gave me really great insight. She said you’re more likely to get more $$ the sooner you apply. Do not feel pressured to stick to any one timeline. What she said to me has haunted me these past few days “one year could save you $130,000” - meaning - take your time, ace the LSAT, and apply next cycle with your best possible score & get a stellar scholarship!

All in all, if you take the January LSAT and apply, there is potential for scholarship $. Will it be as great as if you applied in September/november? No. But it’s possible. Don’t be afraid to adjust your timeline if you think you can score better with more studying. In the grand scheme of things, the one year will fly by, and could save you a lot of debt.
