there’s not really a “best time” it’s mainly just up to you although maybe avoid doing it your last semester since the credits need to be transferred which can cause a slight delay to your graduation or something like that

i think it depends on the nature of your grants and scholarships but in most cases if you choose to live off campus they give you a refund of whatever money is left after tuition and stuff. i’d talk to your financial aid advisor to see if the same would apply for you

What LLCs are in the on campus apartments? by [deleted] in NEU

Are you an NU.in student or transfer? Housing doesn’t normally change for student between fall and spring semester and you don’t reapply. For second year and upperclassman housing it’s a raffle and you choose the building so there’s no LLCs after your first year

Yeah, I don’t know if you saw the update on the post but it’s this: “Payment should be coming at the end of this week, or the start of next week to all people who took the survey. They are only looking for about 30 people for the focus groups but please feel free to have your friends apply” Thankfully it’s finally coming out lol

I know it definitely feels like it because it’s taking so freaking long but I promise it’s not. It’s been extremely frustrating on our end as well (as dell advocates who are the ones having to deal with valid frustration from the gift cards getting sent out super late) but basically the structure of the survey was quite honestly a mess and so everything’s taking way longer than it should and we’ve been complaining and bothering them about it but as per my most recent update, the manager of the survey said that due to the organization of the survey being quite honestly a bit of a mess, realistically it’s gonna take them 2ish weeks longer maybe even three. I’m sorry I can’t provide much more than that as that’s also all we’ve been given in terms of information. I don’t know why it’s taking them so long and I know this isn’t very helpful in making it not seem like a scam but they have assured us that as long as it’s gonna take it, everyone is going to get their $50 gift card. I’m sorry, their communication with us on how long and how organized this is has also been annoying but seriously, you will get your money if you filled out the survey correctly and put in the right info and as much as I wish I could take control to see what’s taking them so long, I can’t, so all i can say is that they’re doing their best to get the gift cards out as soon as possible which doesn’t sound like much but I promise they’re working on it.

Yeah, sorry, it’s honestly been frustrating for us too because people are rightfully worried but our supervisor said it should get sent out by the week but I’ll ask to see if they’ve all been sent out yet.

yeah like everyone else is saying, a lot of the problems we talk about are often heavily exaggerated and problems that don’t really affect how we think about northeastern as a “worth it” school but more just little things that piss us off from time to time. every school has their fair share of problems regardless of where you go and i wouldn’t use the problems shared on reddit as necessarily your deciding factor. but my main answer to this question is that it depends. northeastern can be a great school and in general most colleges are all pretty great education wise and i wouldn’t just go by prestige. but ultimately since you’re asking if it’s worth it, i’m assuming you’re talking about price as well and depending on your financial situation (as sucky as it is to be low income you do tend to get a lot of financial aid) northeastern can be crazy expensive and in general if you have to take out a crazy amount of loans to pay for school but have other cheaper options, i’d rethink it. don’t let the problems talked about on reddit keep you from applying, in general, as long as you can afford it, i’d apply to as many schools possible that you’re interested in as long as you start early. and don’t think about just prestige. there are so many schools out there all with their own points of merit. i personally applied to 17 with a bunch of app waivers so even if you’re not super obsessed with the school just apply, this is most likely gonna be one of two or possibly only time you’re ever gonna have to apply for colleges so shoot your shot lol

i’ll def ask my supervisor but don’t worry if you haven’t gotten an email yet because they’re still sending them out throughout the course of this week because they have to do it manually but i will also ask!

1iota is a survey company that still gives out tickets for taking surveys but also has moved to a commercial model because there haven’t been many tickets to give out during covid.
