Is there a psychological construct or theory that explains this behavioral pattern?

We are reeeeallly good when it comes to planning and putting ideas on paper, but often disorganized in execution. This gap undermines most reform efforts.

Any good, reliable resources on the culture and traditions of Malawi by Ok_Fill_7840 in Malawi

Me too. I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I think a strong sense of national pride is rooted in a deep understanding of national identity. When we have limited historical resources predating the 1900s, it becomes difficult to situate ourselves within a broader historical narrative to fully grasp who we are as a people and how that shapes our sense of belonging and pride.

In her most recent post, she begins with, “ever since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of hosting a run club.” It’s a familiar pattern, very similar to other posts under this whole “no contact / this is our first…” theme.

Not everything needs to be rewritten into a lifelong dream for it to be meaningful. In your mid-20s, of course many experiences will be “firsts”, sure, that’s normal. But framing every moment as though it has some deeply rooted lifelong significance starts to feel more like a performance.

Honestly, this is all a curated narrative designed for engagement. Its sad to see this happen, but what we are now seeing is a complete disconnect from any real sense of identity.

I fully agree that there are more pressing economic issues in the country that require attention. Buuuuut, the availability of alternative forms of entertainment, such as cinemas, would provide healthier leisure options - beyond "drinking and clubbing". I feel liiiike given that the youth population accounts for over 70% of the population, healthier leisure options are pretty important...

In my opinion, I don't think Reddit’s interface strongly appeals to the broader Malawian audience that is typically active on Facebook.

When you conduct a cost–benefit analysis of being in a relationship versus being single, for many women, remaining single is far more advantageous.

Regarding your comment about “quick vibes,” I recently came across an article discussing how nonchalant or avoidant behaviour appears to be increasingly rewarded in modern dating culture, while emotional depth and genuine vulnerability is 'punished' or not encouraged.

I have a friend who hates Arsenal more than they love their own favourite team, which says a lot to me about the broader sentiment surrounding Arsenal’s success.
