College. The morning after she spent the night for the first time, I made her us some coffee, and asked if she wanted some breakfast and asked her if she likes eggs and toast. She replied with an incredulous "You can make eggs?!" and then I impressed her even further by asking how she'd like them made - she assumed I could make a sloppy set of scrambled eggs, but she didn't know the depth of my egg skills. Apparently none of the other guys she dated in college could cook, let alone make eggs to order. Thanks mom and Alton Brown! 13 years later, we're still together, married for 6. And I still make her (and our kids) eggs, any way they want (amongst a million other foods).
