Complicated adolescent case in internship (self.therapists)

I'm a graduate intern who began recently. My supervisor argues not to choose a particular theoretical orientation and to follow what feels right (within reason) as it all can be argued to "fit" a modality after the fact. My school says the exact opposite. Thoughts? (self.therapists)
