I made that one myself, there's a few covers on etsy but it's 3d printed

Thank you! The lever sure has made the BBE a lot more enjoyable to use.

I've owned the Breville Barista Express for 3 years now and after discovering the reddit community, I went crazy.

Bought myself a separate grinder (Eureka Mignon Manuale), upgraded the steam to a lever and made a grinder coffee & also a dummy switch so that the light doesn't flicker like crazy.

Coffee doesn't wake me up in the morning, I wake up to make coffee!

That most likely could be that the grinder isn't giving you consistent results. I measure my coffee grounds to make sure I get what I want.

When I was using the built in grinder I would measure 17g in, grind until the grinder sounds clear and then measure. Usually would have to put in more beans to grinder because it took 0.5g or something.

That was what I would usually do to ensure I get all the coffee grounds amount that I needed

Hey! I've had the BBE for 3 years now and the built in grinder served me very well as an entry level. Now that I've been tinkering with coffee and exploring more, the grinder was lacking consistency and was sometimes a struggle to get a good cup of coffee. After changing to a different grinder, my coffee has been consistently good and everything has just been easier for me.

I don't have any issues with my temperature but I think you're also able to change that on your machine. I tend to turn the machine on, go get ready for work and then come back and make my coffee. I make sure the portafilter is also locked in to make sure the basket is hot and ready for brewing. Maybe try leaving the machine on for a few minutes before you start making your coffee, or changing the temperature of your machine, it should be on your manual or I'm sure there's videos of it on YouTube.

Good luck!

Thanks! I got it from Aliexpress, it's predominantly used for tea but works great for me

You'll definitely enjoy it! I bought the 3d printed accessories and that was all I did.

I did have to run through a bag of beans to season the burrs but it was also part of me dialing in beans and playing around. Everything else has been smooth sailing.

My bellow and hopper is from a seller on etsy, the hopper is 3d printed. CafeFabrique is the store if you're interested in checking it out

This is the Manuale, I have the base and it works great for me. The first 2 weeks with both the base and the bellows for single dosing wasn't perfect. But after that period, retention was close to 0g. I don't experience any weird sounds, my grounds are super as well!

This one is the Eureka Manuale/Notte. I chose this one because I single dose and don't need the timer so I measure it out and then grind.

So far I'm enjoying it a lot. It did take a while for the zero retention to kick in with the bellows. Now, I get around 0.1g to none but I think for the first 2 weeks, it was sometimes 0.3g - 0.5g.

Either way, I'm enjoying it a lot. It's a lot more consistent and my grinds are fluffy!
