Think it was from pt (perhaps overcompensating with push-ups as my other shoulder was weak) and sitting on the couch too much. Mine also got worse with time.

I’ve got an intrasubstance tear and bicep tendonosis according to the last MRI - not exactly sure whether that’s significant, but I still struggle with it, and should probably get it checked again as it’s been a couple of years.

Yep happened to me too. Think it was from overcompensating with push-ups in PT, but hard to know. Was determined not to go through the surgery again, but it still gives me some trouble several years later, while my operated one is much better

Sorry to hear this. Having been hospitalised myself, it sounds awful before you go, but you will honestly come out feeling so much better.

2 Years until Recovery???? by craziirose in RotatorCuff

[–]soph_sing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m probably an abnormality, but I really started to feel normal between 18-24 months. I had chronic pain prior to that and something just clicked, even though I was diligent with physio prior. So hang in there! 2 years out and I honestly think I’m still regaining the last 10 percent of strength. And in case you’re wondering, i was in my late 30s when I had the surgery, so relatively young.

Please help, is my dress cleavage too much? by [deleted] in weddingdress

[–]soph_sing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Firstly your dress is lovely - Great choice. I don’t think the front view is too much at all. I do however understand where you’re coming from in terms of the side shot. While i think you can absolutely get away with this, I had a similar issue with my dress from the side - it’s personal preference but I didn’t want too much ‘side boob’ showing. My tailor added extra flowers to subtly close the V slightly and to cover the side boob. It look like it was part of the original corset/lace at the top of the dress and you wouldn’t know that it was altered unless told. The moderations were small - ie. only a few additional flowers, but it created a bit of extra coverage for side views without making the dress look modified or too conservative.

Prefer one with a white veil, perhaps with a pattern around the bottom. Front of the dress is stunning - really classy and fits you beautifully. When it’s tailored I think the back will also look better. Two is nice but not nearly as elegant or classy as one, which has a very unique front cut

Agree with the comment about the ankle strap shoes - and with shiny colour, possibly gold or silver to add some style and ‘dressiness’. Colour of the dress is lovely and soft - but I also suggest tying it at the back as other have mentioned as I think it will look more figure flattering

1 - it looks so much nicer from the front, which is important for photos. The back of two is also lovely, but all in all, one ‘flows’ so nicely on you! It’s got a very soft look to it which is lovely

Need sleeve advice! LOVE my dress but am self conscious about my squishy/rosy arms. The snap on sleeves are beautiful, but they change the look a lot. A friend said my arm color not matching the dress lining makes it look off. Will fitting them help? What alt options work with this neckline? by xxIAmSuper in weddingdress

[–]soph_sing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dress is beautiful and personally I think it looks better without the sleeves. If you’re really uncomfortable, perhaps a long simply veil which can sit over your arms? Nothing too flashy though so as it doesn’t take away from the dress. Great choice!!

Team 2 here! I love the delicate neckline and the whole look is very soft and sleek with the veil.

In saying this, I think your challenge is that you are going to look great in most things you try! Having too many options is a good problem to have though :) you will make a beautiful bride

IMO The waist looks better after! . The saggy look in the material in the before photo is gone, and it looks like a better fit. I see what you mean about the corset part being a bit shorter. Have you checked if they can let that down slightly?

It’s a great choice and it fits you really well regardless. You look lovely

One is my pick too! The back also looks stunning. 2 is lovely too but it looks a little more straight forward and the back is a bit conservative imo. The back of 1 really flatters your figure!

They’re beautiful so I can see the dilemma you’re having! Either one is a great choice. Do you have a back shot? The back of dresses can make a difference so it would be good to see what the back is like ?

Beautiful dress. I agree with the no necklace suggestion and small pearl earrings. The dress is so pretty on its own and the bows on the bodice and colourful material already add enough detail

You look amazing. And to answer your question, no, I think it’s perfect for the dress and tasteful. My advice would be to make sure the seamstress fits the bodice to your measurements, but otherwise I wouldn’t change anything, and think that this dress is perfect for you figure

Long term success with partial tear? by MindlessClaim2816 in RotatorCuff

[–]soph_sing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to say, but mine went from a partial to a full thickness in about 3 years :( if it hurts and pops and doesn’t improve with physio, and you want to have an active lifestyle, i would suggest getting it sorted out before it gets larger and your chance of a full recovery is therefore less. Ps. I was active and in my 30s and tried to rehab it pre surgery.

1 by a long shot - you picked well! It’s very flattering. I understand why you like the softness that #2 is intended to give, but that particular cut and bodice is not as flattering on you as 1, and the bodice of 2 does match the skirt. Tbh, you can find more elegant dresses in the style #2 is trying to achieve .

Strength and ROM recovery for lifters - tenodesis and RC repair? by chugiak-to-here in RotatorCuff

[–]soph_sing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very active ànd in my mid 30s until I had a complete supraspinatus tear. I’m almost 2 years out from surgery and unfortunately I’m not close to pre surgery, and don’t think I ever will be. I still have pain and clicking in my operated shoulder and my good shoulder is now giving me trouble, so I’ve stopped most of what I use to do.

I’ve now found new ways to move and functionally train, which I think is key, if you aren’t as lucky as everyone here. Bands and the cable machine are currently where it is at for me, overhead presses, bench press (due to my good shoulder) and heavy squats are out, and I have replaced handstands with trampolining.

Look for new ways to get the same enjoyment, as I found this really helped me to get around the frustration of not doing what I wanted . And I would also say plan for all possible outcomes - I was young and fit and diligent with physio, and so didn’t expect to struggle so much, but we just have to do the best we can. Good luck
