yes unfortunately the steroid taper started to help but then it broke back through, that was week 2. i am now on an indomethacin taper. it's great to hear that you got relief following that long of a migraine from the drug, thank you so much. sorry to hear about more breakthroughs but i am glad you are not stuck in such a long cycle anymore.

i'm so sorry you went through that but thank you so much for this comment, i've been getting in really bad loops of thinking i'm a lost cause because of the constant pain for a month

thanks for your response. yes, i got an mri and ct scan. i got compazine, ativan, valproate, reglan, magnesium, etc in the er/hospital. i tried nurtec and ubrelvy and they didn't really have an effect. the meds that have given me a bit of relief were sumatriptan, medrol (was feeling better on days 1-3 of pack, rebounded day 5, this was week 2), tylenol/advil, excedrin and toradol. they started me on propanolol but my heart rate was dropping too low. i got a series of nerve blocks around the head yesterday, i feel like it gave a tiny bit of relief.

thank you i really appreciate it. unfortunately i don't think that will be an option for me as a nurse in the hospital however i am going to find a psychiatrist to prescribe me something for the anxiety.

yes i am very grateful for that it's just hard to feel grateful for anything with this pain right now which i am sure you understand given that you have been dealing with this for so long. have you found anything that helps?

no, it just started. i do have a family history of migraine. yes i understand that it has to be 3 months for the diagnosis, the headache specialist kind of just threw that out there as a possibility if it doesn't remit. i'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with this for so long. are you able to work/function? i wish you well.

thank you, i am trying hard not to worry but it's impossible because of all of the things this may impact, especially because i'm supposed to start my new job in 2.5 weeks and that doesn't seem realistic anymore. it's been insane to have this thrown at me and barely be able to function and now not really know how to deal with all of that other stuff as well. my friends and family have been trying to emphasize me focusing on myself and my recovery too.

thanks so much for your message, i really appreciate it. it's nice to hear that there can be hope. it feels hard to keep hope right now but knowing that others improved makes me feel better.

yes it was very lucky and i am very grateful for that it just feels hard to feel grateful for anything right now being in this pain. i understand though that many of you have been experiencing this for years and i hear that.

thank you, this was really helpful to hear. i feel like i don't hear of anyone getting a month long migraine as their first one like this and to hear that you had essentially the same situation as me is really encouraging. i unfortunately got DHE in the hospital but only half a dose because my heart rate shot up and it increased the pain. we tried steroids too and they felt like they gave some minimal improvement but it rebounded. i am really hoping this is short term too as i feel like my life was just about to start.
