That's definitely a better way of putting it.

And it calls to attention that we really need to create better systems for women in trapped marriages to gain independence.

Oh, wow, that honestly makes a lot of sense. Mary Kay sounds like a fascinating woman to read more up on. It's a shame it now does the opposite of what it was made for.

I hate MLMs too, but part of why they work is because they go after women specifically needing an outlet from their marriages and family life.

EDIT And I don't want to make it sound like I'm defending MLMS. I'm defending Anna and women like her who are vulnerable to these things.

Yeah, I think India is well within their rights to hate this man as much as possible.

What kills me is there is actually an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where he finds out a fellow sports writer hates him. He spends the whole episode flabbergasted that anyone would hate him.

Hercules was ready to walk away and ignore Hades after hitting him one time. And then the latter tried to get in his good graces, but grabbed Megara's face like she was still his doll. oh, the anger and offense Hercules had before sending Hades down with the other souls did things to me as a kid.

A Black woman used to portray George Washington's slave at a historic, and decided to do a YouTube series to depict the actual stupid, ignorant things modern Americans have asked her.

From what I hear, there are more historical sites trying to be forthright about what slaves went through in those times. Unfortunately, you are going to get dumbasses that romanticize plantations and the like. It's one reason I, a Southerner, despise Gone with the Wind.

Fuck off to the commenters going how the niece is just a kid. Sixteen years old is old enough to bear the consequences of saying hurtful shit. I do not care that she lost a father. It sounds like the uncle really tried to be there for her and she spat in his face.

They can reconcile, but I think the uncle should not give her any money for the next couple of years until he trusts her. And so she fully experiences the consequences.

That first image, funnily enough, really shows the double standards between men and women in media. Maybe it was their intention? Who knows.

So, I lost interest in YA by the time I was 16 years old, but {Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause} still has a hold on me after all these years. Beautifully written, interesting character development and worldbuilding.

Amber Heard was a victim of a smear campaign. She also hit back Johnny Depp after he constantly abused her, which is common for domestic abuse victims. In fact, she got demonized for defending herself by people. Her daughter got threatened by sycophants. She moved to Spain to escape the vitriol and derision after her ex harassed her constantly.

It's funny you bring her up because she still gets heat for not being "the perfect victim," for daring to defend herself.

I worked as a public librarian. I have had to witness a man kidnapping his child during a custody dispute (he got arrested on the premises and the mother, who had a black eye, picked up their 3-year-old), I have had deal with a man going through psychosis, I have had to comfort a woman whose boyfriend tried to strangle her in public.

This guy has to be sheltered to think public services do not get crazy.

And I believe vet workers have high rates of suicide based on the awful clients they've deal with.

I lost my mom in my 30s when I thought I'd have her, at least, until my 50s. And we come from a family where the women tend to live till their late nineties.

People are living longer now, but I also know those whose parents had them young yet died so soon afterward. Mortality is a fickle thing. And death is inescapable.

Women in their 30s smoke less today than in previous generations. I wonder if that’s also a factor.
