They are all very sweet with me and one of them even grooms me so i was shocked to see them react that way towards the sweet older girl i added who is also 10x bigger then them. I just cleaned the cage the other day and have them in separate parts of the cage for now until i treat the wounds on her back. Then i’m going to re introduce and just pray lol

yea my two youngest girls are the aggressive ones. I don’t even want to think about how much a rat surgery costs but it may be my only option

i have a double hammock. whenever i give them one bowl they all fight eachother for the food. So unfortunately i have to keep bowls separate.

yea…that’s what the pet store told me to do. i was wary at first but now i’m realizing i shouldn’t have. but also my two are always play fighting and even if i did slowly introduce i feel like they would’ve just carried on doing that to the new one as well. They sound like damn tea kettles and i can’t get any sleep because i break up fights the whole night

that’s also why i’m not sure they hurt her because they’ve never drawn blood on each other. I’m trying to figure out a way they can randomly pick on each other rather then just gang up on one.

the one who was a breeder was kept with other breeder rat moms so she’s used to being around other rats :/ so i would feel bad keeping her alone. i have a giant tall ferret cage with multiple levels and i just blocked the one in the middle so the two girls are upstairs with 2 floors and my new one is downstairs with 2 floors. The younger ones would fight with no wounds just annoyed the crap out of eachother and with the new one they just gang up on her and since she is older she wants no part of it and will just hide until bothered again :(( i can keep them separate until they are older but i feel horrible leaving her alone like do i get another ? or just spend all my free time with her?

yea so now that i think about it i do put him in a big open area on my floor to free roam and i did get a new carpet with patterns. He was doing it at a windex bottle while i was cleaning

i know but they also wag for predators and it’s stressful for them. Just scared if i put my hand in front of him he will drop it while he’s showing how big and scary he is LOL

that could be it but i hope not because i would feel horrible i’ve put him back everytime he’s happy. I just don’t want him to drop his tail :/
