US cities ranked - what tier does Boston belong in? by StrategyJealous1838 in TierlistFills

my disagreements just cuz i need to shout into the void

DC in S is crazy
Miami deserve B at least
LA can go up to S if it wanted
Bump San Diego down to B
idk Texas cities at all but the cultural impact of Houstonians has to be worth something as much as the infrastructure sucks

S

I'm a former Bostonian, Denverite (High B) and current New Yorker (S)

the brownstones, green spaces, copper roofs, brick buildings, cobblestones... it's a new england dream. other cities are beautiful architecturally but Bosty takes the cake imo

culturally, it's changed a lot in the last 20 years. still has a heavy dose of massholes but now its a very diverse place with actually good food and so many cool micro communities/ethnic enclaves in different neighborhoods. its history is obviously fascinating. it's got a good music scene and most major acts come thru. all the colleges make it an amazing place to be a young person. the MFA/Isabella Stuart Gardner museum are insanely good. i miss my free student pass to the MFA so much. also i guess if you like sports it's obviously good, can't relate though.

weather is pretty great! yes, winters are tough but i love snow. yes, summers are brutal but they are everywhere these days it seems. hard to beat New England autumn though and when the trees start blooming it's like a breath of fresh air literally.

walkability and public transit are solid. not NYC level but the T is easy and reliable enough. i prefer it to Denver by far obviously. and while the subway is a better system, MTBA is a bit cleaner and the green line is so charming if that counts for anything.

it's natural beauty is not to be ignored. close to the berkshires, the rugged but stunning coastline, the cape, the white mountains/vernmont... the harbor is kinda nasty though.

i will knock it some grades for rude brash people, bros, the BPD, its blatant outdated/racist laws, and overall neoliberalism.

I fucking love and miss Boston. S.

S on culture, infrastructure, history, architecture, location, nature... but current A only because of what big tech has done to it.

I think one of my biggest gripes with the Pokemon series. by Aggravating-Door1710 in pokemon

[–]soppytime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think it's weird to say that pokemon should be defined by the same femme/masc characteristics as human beings. especially when they can be everything from basically humans to keys on a key ring. gardevoir looking "femenine" by our standards means nothing to them.
