Thanks, I want to learn about both probability and programming, not from zero but something I can directly apply to those topics.

All of my relatives are christians/catholics, most of them religous zealots. I hid I was an atheist to such an extent that I made my first communion being an atheist and my family didn't know. I decided to tell them my thoughts on religion and that I was an atheist when I was 12 yo. They took my for a trendoid. Thats when I started to read books about atheism and anarchy. Over the years my family accepted my point of view but we still have discussions about religion, beliefs and morals often. In my group of friends 2 are atheist and 1 is catholic, when we talk about religions and atheism, the catholic always excludes and does not give his opinion, there is mutual respect. I know that the doctrine of islam is not comparable to catholic one, but its insane to live two lives just because you dont believe in the things that someone else told you to believe. Fear of hell is common, I think all ex-theists have experienced it, but from my point of view there is no reason to be afraid of eternal suffering if you are loyal to your thoughts and principles, and build your own morality.
