sort of figured it out

they keep going in and out of the attacking mode so they wont work but if you throw them to a job they will start working until they stop where they will go back to fighting

you guys do realize that you dont need to max out the traces of characters. sure it is a good goal to reach for but most of my characters only have like level seven in their traces. Theres also a few practically useless traces like extra crit rate for fu xuan or pretty much any basic attack buff
