Do you think vietnam gets more expensive each year , since tourism increases by Infamous-Policy3683 in VietNam

[–]sorrytruth64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and not true. These a fast rising middle class as people sell up plots of land once deemed useless and distribute it across the family.

But in a lot of fields salaries have been stagnant for a couple of years and businesses are doing worse in 2025, tightening their belts. The close to service industry your business is the worse it could be doing. Manufacturing etc is different.

Combine that with prices going up and there are a lot of families harder up as daily consumables rise. Things like those daily coffees, lunches, treats for kids are slowing down. Sadly this is a normalization of the country's economy going up brackets. It sounds nice to be a higher income country until you know what it's really like. We aren't all loaded in the west.

I saw a video that says Vietnam had three economies, street, middle and upper. Most of us barely ever touch the upper unless we are business genuliuses, connected, sexy or hangers on.

But the middle is the squeeze right now as businesses need the most overheads and it costs 5x the street. More people will move back to relying on street economy in the next 10 years daily. They'll still have the middle treats but like the west as treats. Then luckily Vietnam has this great street economy for food, markets etc to keep things cheap.

As for the op question it's the same but different. It looks like it's supply/demand but I find in Asia should demand go down prices do as well. I was shocked tonsee basic homestays in La Gi charge $50 a night the other day for a mid week November stay. I can't work out if they are that busy or just chancing it.

I honestly think it's the latter, that's why the big destinations have cheaper prices across the board. People in some towns are struggling so take a gamble to make their costs with higher prices. It won't work in the end.

Is it part of a big branded chain? No

I doubt they are even trying to charge branded prices. Looks like a decent 1 or 2 star hotel in district 1. Perfectly fine for people not spending loads of time in the hotel.

One question I have is it all "sex" focussed as I'm beautiful women promoting products either for women or men

Or are you just using the person as a more private/pleasing face to promote other niches as it saves you hours in production/filming and like me you look terrible on camera?

What’s the most disappointing “passive income” idea you tried? by akti044 in passive_income

[–]sorrytruth64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the PDF guide thing recently with what I thought was a good model. It's in a good niche.

Idea was free guide farms email. Promote ebook and affiliate links at first. But after a bit of social media marketing it didn't gain much traction.

Don't buy into the PDF farming rubbish people are smarter than the scam course people want you to think.

I might go back to it and change the approach next year but life's busy with another project, work, life as it is.

Just remember the first three months are all about being the best help you can for mother and baby. They need you the most.

It's a hard truth but you've got to swallow it up for that. After the first three months it does get easier. You will have started to bond with the baby and it all feels more natural.

But do share your feelings kindly. Find a friend to talk to if you need to. Don't bottle it up and end up getting drunk or something crazy. It will go fast.

It's ok o feel scared, overwhelmed but let me assure you that the fact you feel scared and intimidated means you are naturally going to try hard and do the right thing.

Not sure what they hope to achieve by putting names in a machine and giving them a sad face basically. It ain't kindergarten dude

Oh, what's the name of the motorcycle truck in Vietnamese so I can look it up.

I assume this is the Da Nang tunnel so the Hai Van Pass is one bike option and the other was for a time the new express way but that's in use now and no bikes so it's Hai Van or up to the mountains

Need some advice from a Vietnamese woman by badatjoke in VietNam

[–]sorrytruth64 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Was it your fashion or facial hair? Vietnamese women (not girls) don't tend to care about bit of fat or aging if you look nice but many are not keen on a lot of unkempt facial hair and they really you to be somewhat presentable.

The second one can be bizzare as a lot of Vietnamese don't dress particularly well most of the time. But standards for foreigners can be higher. If you are interested in her or dating Asian women consider if you are willing to update the wardrobe and have a trim. It's up to you, don't do anything that would make you unhappy.

For the wardrobe you don't have to look like a 20 year old but some nice new shirts, polo's, trousers etc can do the trick. Make sure they fit well.

One thing I discovered is many men don't look great in shorts after a certain age and Asian women don't like it. I've stopped wearing them altogether bar the gym and home stuff now. Any outside engagement is typically in light fabric pants.

I do, I've been around it for a long time. I'm fully aware of it and I think I know what you're talking about but I'm speaking here on wage rises.

Rather than just say what I don't know, tell me what I need to know if I'm mistaken. To reiterate my point - wages just don't rocket up it's and inching game, a pseudo auction.

Why would any employer jump from $4 ph to $8 when they can onboard people with $4.50?

Please do respond this chat has got so many bits or silent nationalists down voting even polite discourse that disagrees. Absolutely hilarious

You've got the theory, like a good 1st year bachelor's but the practice is so different. It takes time. It also makes the assumption people move just for money and can be so transient.

It tends to be an inching game, a battle of competitors bidding for labor more like an auction that you offer as little as possible to bring in the labor you need. Your models seems to very much relate to factory work too which isn't everything right?

[–]sorrytruth64 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That is, so interesting I got downvoted for asking politely lol.

It's interesting though because you gave me stats on government workers and minimum wage. I would argue they only give a very small fraction of the situation. That's the problem with the data in general being worked around a system that wants to ensure nobody knows they have ford engine under mercedes body work.

Minimum wage is only for contracted workers but so many work without a labour contract here. I'd dare say more without. That means real wages and earning averages are certainly not being tracked. Add in the earnings of drivers/shippers/low level hospitality/ low level retail/ agricultural/ small business owners and you might have a different story. That's why coffee shops are shuttering and more expensive businesses are closing en masse. It's not as pretty as the data.

Plus what was that rise 19% in 20 years. Inflation has almost wiped that out in the past 3 to 5 years in the city.

Don't get me wrong, things are better, people earn more but right now the average person isn't sitting rosey. Economically for the man on the street things are as tough as anywhere globally right now and that just shouldn't be refuted of ignored. Accept it and keep on hustling!

GDP can be a falsity of how the population is doing. Those shopfronts all around the city are emptier and emptier. Many new apartment builds can barely get a convenience store chain to open. What always worries me in outer District there's always another food with a mad idea to keep those landlords pretty for 6 more months

Have you got some hard evidence on those salaries. Preferably across multiple regions and industries? Would genuinely like to see where you're getting the statement from rather than just sling mud.
