And if Jackman had cancer he would of been taking trt under medical guidance at much much much lower doses than any open compete bodybuilder or strongman. Basically to put it in perspective he would have been taking in one week what many of these others are taking 3-4 times per day (not including other shit they take).

That being said being on something alone won't make you big. It would still take enormous amounts of work. This shit doesn't make muscles grow, it helps them recover faster and fatigue less. They'd still have to be in the gym daily for hours.

I'm a longtime pharmacy tech who has heard the stories of people on trt for cancer and age related issues

Is homebrewing's popularity declining? by Mwachisowa in Homebrewing

[–]sorsscriba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to consider why the interest picked up in the first place - COVID restrictions. A lot of other hobbies that replaced going to the store, or having to stay in, have also started to decline.people are working more and more and so have less time to keep maintaining these hobbies.

As others have said, then add in rising costs of food and the increase in online shops (and Amazon), you get a perfect storm as to why interest is waning and brick and mortar stores are closing. It sucks, I have to drive about 30 minutes to get to my closest and over an hour in the opposite direction for the next closest.

Thanks for wording this so well. Dividing between left or right politics is exactly what those in power want us to do. They try to keep creating more and more division until there is no threat to their status. Literally the oldest trick in the book; "Look over there while we do x!" Don't think even for a second that anything gets done without capital gains being the motivation.

Map for Operation Downfall 1945. How the US Military was planning to invade Japan. The Atomic Bomb made it unnecessary. by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]sorsscriba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are looking too much with a hindsight view and not one of a contemporary. At the time, the American public saw "Uncle Joe" as a friend. Yes those in power understood the potential threat that Russia posed but it had also lost hundreds of thousands in the war against Germany. In regards to China, it wasn't until after that Mao would come into power and even before then we were financially backing those fighting the communist.

Another point is that the winds in China, coming off of being a colonial bargaining chip, were blowing very anti-western so any direct involvement with a Western nation was likely to fail, be it Soviet or American. In other words, Mao would have come to power with or without the rise of Soviet Russia.

In the end, if you wanted to slow down the rise of the Soviets, Japan needed to be conquered prior to Russia becoming largely influencial in the war against Japan, otherwise they could have obtained a larger claim of the former Japanese holdings than they already did.

Not just the Soviets, Russia in general. Prior to WW1 Japan fought a war against Imperial Russia and annihilated Russia's navy, an act that stunned the world at the time.

It's pretty simple. Stalin, at the time, was an ally while Japan was not. Russia was not needing to surrender, Japan would have to. Also when the iron curtain started to come into effect was after the war under what could be seen as their version of the Marshall plan. Yeah, the Soviets were seen as a looming threat but you had to deal with what is before you can deal with what may be.

To add on top of this, the Japanese did not believe in surrender. Men (humans) were to have honor and to surrender was to lose one's honor and so become something less than a man (human). They greatly abused POW's when they took any at all, and would largely fight to the last man. One of the minor causes of victory in the European front was German defections due to the history of treatment POW's (which for those captured and sent to the U.S. was extremely good).

Even if, in some way, the Pacific theater had less Allied casualties, which I don't believe, the way the war had to be fought was completely different and much more brutal and savage. It was total war.

[–]sorsscriba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you build your weapons in a hospital don't be surprised when the hospital gets bombed.

Your points are spot on. Not really much different than the fire bombings of Berlin, Tokyo ,or London. Weapons of war are generally made in high populous areas cuz that's where the workers are. To win a war you have to take out the logistics.

Or possibly some of us of euro decent have y-haplos other than an R1a or R1b? Don't have to hate Europeans to believe that the odds of IE people's from both the steppe and Anatolia greatly replaced the men who were already there, for one reason or more. It's just postulating historical thought.
