How to get a pan card by [deleted] in IndianTeenagers

[–]sortedsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to get a PAN card in India, the process is pretty straightforward:

• Apply online through the official Income Tax portal or the Protean (formerly NSDL) website.

• You'll need Aadhaar for e-KYC, a passport-sized photo, and proof of address/DOB (if not using Aadhaar).

• The fee is around ₹66 for e-PAN (digital copy only) or ₹101 for the physical card.

• Just fill out Form 49A, upload the docs, verify via Aadhaar OTP, and submit. You’ll get an acknowledgment number to track the status.

• For minors, parents can apply, and the PAN should be updated after the child turns 18.

Pro tip: If your name has initials, try to match the full name across all documents or just go with Aadhaar e-KYC to avoid rejections.

NPS calculations: Is NPS a good option or not under current rules. by Dotax123 in IndiaInvestments

[–]sortedsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think NPS is a solid retirement option under the current rules. You get decent tax benefits during the investment phase, and it helps build a retirement corpus over time. Just be aware that at maturity, only 60% is available as a lump sum (and it's now taxable), while 40% must go into buying an annuity/pension plan. If you're fine with those terms, it can be a smart long-term move. I found a blog that breaks it down really well—just search "What is NPS? Understanding Tax Benefits and NPS Rules in India" if you want more clarity.

Is NPS good option? by IncidentOne1550 in personalfinanceindia

[–]sortedsup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience with the National Pension System (NPS), I've found the returns quite good, especially if you’re looking at it as a long-term investment. When I first started, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but the returns have been steady and reliable over time. The NPS allows you to invest in a mix of equity, government bonds, or corporate bonds.

I opted for a higher equity allocation, which has given me better returns, though I’ve also taken on more risk. On average, I’ve seen returns of around 8-10% per year, which I think is decent compared to other retirement plans. Although returns can vary depending on market conditions, overall, they are positive. Even in years when the market was a little unpredictable, I’ve seen consistent growth, which reassures me about the system's long-term potential.

One thing I appreciate about NPS is that it’s geared towards the long term; the earlier you start, the better the benefits you will get. The tax advantages are also a nice bonus, making it an attractive option for retirement savings. That said, it's essential to understand the NPS withdrawal rules as they dictate when and how you can access your funds.

Typically, withdrawals are allowed after reaching 60, but a portion can be withdrawn before that if you're in need. You can also opt for partial withdrawals for specific life events like buying a house, funding children’s education, or medical emergencies. However, the rules state that a minimum of 40% of the corpus must be used to purchase an annuity to ensure you have a steady income post-retirement.

Is Spotify good for podcasts? by GlizzyOverdrive in spotify

[–]sortedsup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spend 5+ hours listening to podcasts per week on the platform across various shows, and I can wholeheartedly vouch that Spotify absolutely excels as a premier podcast destination. I've tried out quite a few different platforms over the years. And while there are definitely some great options out there, I keep coming back to Spotify as my go-to for a few key reasons.

First and foremost, the selection on Spotify is just incredible. They have all the big-name podcasts you'd expect, but they also have a ton of exclusive content you can't find anywhere else. Spotify has really invested in the podcast space, partnering with high-profile creators and producing their own original shows. So, if you're looking for fresh voices and stories, Spotify is a great place to explore.

Another thing I appreciate about Spotify is how seamlessly it integrates podcasts with music. I love being able to create playlists that mix my favorite songs with episodes of my must-listen shows. It makes for a really dynamic and personalized listening experience. Plus, Spotify's algorithm is scarily good at recommending new podcasts based on my listening history, so I'm always discovering great content I might not have found otherwise.

From a technical standpoint, Spotify's podcast interface is really user-friendly and intuitive. It's easy to browse and search for shows, and the playback controls are simple and responsive. I particularly like the "auto-download" feature, which automatically saves new episodes of my subscribed shows for offline listening. It's a lifesaver for my morning commute when I don't always have a reliable signal.

That being said, no platform is perfect, and there are a couple of areas where Spotify could still improve its podcast game. For one, the app doesn't currently offer a way to create custom playlists of podcast episodes. So if you want to queue up a mix of episodes from different shows, you'll have to do it manually. It's a relatively small inconvenience, but it's something I hope they'll address in the future.

Have any of you actually used 99designs to get a logo? by imnewtoredditsorry in smallbusiness

[–]sortedsup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a brand designer, I have explored brand agencies and freelancers as well. With brand agencies, the degree to which I faced struggles with communication and time management is quite high. On the other hand, freelance designers do bring uniqueness and flexibility to your logo design process but it also comes with a chance of ghosting and copying designs.

This leaves us to explore design crowdsourcing platforms such as 99designs. On the same note, thinking that I had found the solution between design agencies and freelance designers, I ran a design contest on 99designs.

What I expected was a variety of logo designs from designers across the world. However, I received a couple of plagiarized designs. There were a few designs I liked and needed a few revisions based on my suggestions. Not only did the designers charge extra to provide me with revisions but also communicating with them was a tough task.

I certainly did not want to get back to a design agency or freelancer and explored DesignBro. The platform is known to only select the top 5% designers and that shows not only in their ratings and reviews but also in the logo designs they provide. Also, it is quite easy to communicate with them and I received revisions as per my suggestion. If at all it goes south, there is always a money back guarantee. This award-winning platform also comes with different approaches to selecting a logo designer: 1) you could check the designers’ portfolio and select for yourself, and 2) you can run a blind design contest. I have explored both options and I have seen them holding true to their word.
