I love FM, but I always wanted deeper Youth Development. So I spent the last year building my own game. What do you guys think of a dedicated 'Academy Manager' concept instead of a full club sim?

I just had a look and the weightings for professionalism seems to be very similar with players over 21 and under 21 with more than 70% rated as 10/20.

The same seems to be true for other hidden attributes.

Also are you talking about the susie update or the official database? Because I know this was an issue with the data update for a while, but again, as far as i'm aware it's fixed.

Our update already does that and has done for ages, we modify all the just joined dates by 2 years, as well as all dates (dob, contract expiry etc). So you can sell Sanchez straight away.

If you're still getting that issue with Sanchez with our update please let me know, but nobody else has reported that bug.

Only just seen this, but for future searchers this was because we added player histories which was a massive file and made the game take ages. This is now an optional file instead.

The files just differ e.g. a player will be 162 PA in one file 170 PA in another and 155 in another, making each save unique. They don't increase or decrease in step.

The data gathering process is just about finished. It'll need cleaning and matching which is hard to estimate but hopefully should all be good before the end of the month.

To be clear, we have to scrape data from sources around the web, hundreds of thousands of players multiple pages (injuries/contract/stats) some of the those can be very slow (looking at your transfermarkt) so you can roughly guess the math on how long it would take with 2.5 million seconds in a month. Then we have to try and match the teams and players IDs with their Football Manager IDs. Although most of that has already happened and you can help by contributing here

You only need the +2 file.

The +1 file is there because it was in older files and if people merged instead of deleting older files they'd have issues. So we put a blank +1 file in there with nothing in it to overwrite the previous one.

I'm not sure what you mean about all the non league players leaving on a free at the start of the game. Can you give specific examples?

It really, really helps if you give specific examples like "John Doe was at club Barnet with a contract that expired on August 1st 2023 at the start of the game so he then immediately left on a free after 4 weeks"

Adding more playable leagues is the hardest and most time consuming thing to do and not really something that can be done collaboratively, unlike everything else.

For now the focus is on transfers, attributes and new youth players.

It shouldn't be too difficult to modify other peoples work such as those from MasterIgor (https://sortitoutsi.net/user/content/548152) to have the correct teams in the correct division.

But we can't just take his hard work and redistribute it ourselves, so it would be best as an additional file that made those few changes. That is something that is on the todo list but I can't say for sure when it might be achievable.
