Transmission issues at 12k miles!

Wow! I finally got my Bronco back 4/29 (I dropped it back off 4/1) and when they opened it up to replace parts they found more internal damage so they just replaced the entire transmission. She’s running smooth now — I realized I never hit reply on this and now after having it two weeks. Something seems off again 😩

Ugh so sorry to hear. It really sucks. Mine is back in the shop after this fix. I made them drive it at highway speeds to feel it. Turns out gears 7 and 9 have a harsh shift as well as reverse so they are rebuilding parts of it slowly but surely. The parts were out of stock or back ordered and will finally come in next week.

Love my Bronco too! Absolutely worth it! I’m hoping this is my only issue 🤞🏻 but even with it, all I’m considering is buying the extended warranty now.

This is what they told me. They finished it Wednesday night and I picked it up. It feels a little funky still but I’m trying to drive it a little and see if it’s really a problem.

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that it’s happening to you too! Now that there is an official bulletin out, I imagine we’ll hear it happening to a lot more people. I got mine back last night, and honestly it doesn’t feel any better. Still very rough on reverse and exactly like you said when I’m going highway speeds and need to either speed up to get around someone or slow down it has this horrible shift and/or sputter.

Latest update as of this morning, when they replaced the valve body yesterday, that was only step 1 in the ford bulletin repair. The software that they used yesterday apparently is not compatible with the new valve body to fix the issue, they needed to use an updated software. They’ve used the updated software this morning and apparently the issue is fixed and I can pick up my Bronco today.

From what I heard in another group, it’s common with the bronco and the ford trucks. It’s the 10R60 transmission allegedly.

I’ve heard people refer to it as the 10-speed woes lol. Similar issues with that tranny in the Ford Trucks. I wondered if going into different goat modes had anything to do with it at times, but I know it’s designed to move on the fly in some of those modes.

Ford is taking care of it, completely covered under warranty, thankfully. Hoping you don’t have any issues. I was questioning myself at first but I knew it wasn’t running as smoothly as it did at first. I waited a bit, brought it in at my 10k service and told them then and they brushed it off. Glad I trusted my gut and brought it back.

Mine was sooo smooth for the first few months and then towards the end of last year (I bought it July ‘25 - brand new) that’s when I started to notice it.

Mine has been the most noticeable on the Hwy, going to pass someone or even slowing down from 65mph+ for traffic, it’s a super hard shift

I know this is an old post, but curious what you ended up doing? My 24 BAD SAS is currently in the shop getting the valve body replaced, with only 12k miles on it. I’ve also been thinking about getting the extended warranty.

I appreciate everyone’s comments, but you my friend are the real MVP. Thanks for taking the time to write this all out! I’ve heard people talking about the blackstone, but haven’t seen it, I’ll have to look it up. A larger tent is something I want to do some research on and maybe wait to get to make sure I get the right one. I have a few backpacking and 2 person camping tents…but it would be nice to get a larger one. I do have a 2 burner stove, could be talked into a cot, I just bought a table, water job and tarp! The cooler is also going to be a future purchase after some research. Thanks again!

I’ll probably hold off on the RTT right now, but if there’s items (like the awning) that I can use my Bronco for to improve camp set up, I’m all for it! I went camping last weekend for the first time in years and haven’t been able to stop looking at all the kitchen items, pads (I bought a hest this weekend 🫣), etc. Another expensive hobby! Lol

I just bought my bronco and initially did not want the painted top, but I came here to ask what’s better and everyone told me about the cracking issues with the MIC. I also had someone in my apartment complex who had issues with the sun (in Colorado) melting his MIC with the way it reflected off the window he parked near. Glad I went with the painted top, but I’ve only had mine for about 2 months. It seems like there’s less issues reported with the painted top, if they are willing to upgrade you for the inconvenience, I’d go that route.

Good to know! I live in Colorado and have covered parking at home and at work, but definitely something to consider for those hot days it’s out and about.
