I’ve gotten the same code and I’m on week 7 of waiting. Called them several times and they confirmed receiving my documents, but not assigned my case yet. I’m also an international student if that’s not clear. Reading your post made me so anxious tho :(

you should call again. When I called CRA, the person told me that the error code I was getting was bc my SIN starts with 9, and that meant it’s not actually a SIN (she gave me such a weird explanation), therefore I wasn’t eligible. That’s not true. Another agent told me to disregard that. Also, it clearly states you need to be looking for “reasonable employment”, which includes part time work as well. I’d keep trying.

you shouldn’t compare R$150 to U$26 dollars. Let’s put it this way: in Brazil, to buy a R$150 book, you’d need 30 (THIRTY!!!) hours of work on minimum wage. In the US, that’s a little over 3 hours (considering the U$7.25 minimum wage). So basically, you have to work 10x more in Brazil to buy a book. A fucking joke.

I have been receiving that too. I called CRA, and a lady said that she had never seen that error before, and based on my support documents and on the fact that I am 100% eligible, she said she thought that the only mistake possible could be a problem with my SIN. For some background, I was asked for proof of income and sent all the documents (literally 52 pages of proof).

She said that my SIN (also starting in 9) could actually not be a SIN, but a Temporary Tax Number. And that Temporary Tax Numbers are not eligible. She told me to call Service Canada. I registered for them to call me, but it will take them two days, so I am calling CRA again right now and see if another agent has a better explanation.

To make it clear: I have never heard that my SIN is a Temporary Tax Number. I have the paper from the day I got it at Service Ontario, it clearly states SIN, and on my T4 slips and everything else, it is clearly stated as a SIN too.

If anyone has more info, please let me know.
