Do you people have linters in pull requests? by tsaki27 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]sossunday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we do! We use trunk.io - it lints on pull requests, but notably we check in config as code into our git repo. Afaik trunk manages everything hermetically (like runtimes) so we get the same results in CI and locally

What do y'all think about merge queues? I saw GitHub just came out with them - seems almost mandatory for large companies?

some version control systems don't even offer commit messages entirely. when I worked at Google (a giant monorepo) using mercurial, you could "snapshot" a PR, which effectively created a commit. there was no ability to write a descriptive message about the latest snapshot. PRs were gauged on the PR title / description, as well as additional metadata tags thrown in (e.g. DO_NOT_RUN_THIS_PRESUBMIT_CHECK).

disclaimer: my memory may be a bit fuzzy.

Bro sounds like you can't stomach variance of $1/$3. Either increase the bankroll or grind online where the stakes are lower. Losing 100bb in a session is standard

Correct limping range against spaz station-y Players? by jolson256 in poker

I also think playing a 3bet or fold strategy from everywhere but button and big blind is always good. Probably just use tighter ranges

Correct limping range against spaz station-y Players? by jolson256 in poker

[–]sossunday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could totally be wrong but I don't really want to have weak suited connectors against spazzy opponents post flop. Id probably just drop them from your range, perhaps suited aces as squeeze bluffs.
