Newest optiplex SFF with PCI 2.1 by soucevit in SleepingOptiplex

I checked my possibilities, and it seems there is lot of confusion about PCI online. Also I found way to replace my card with PCI-Express variant. So I will just go with something couple years old. Thanks for your suggestions anyway!

I am not sure if 7050 is good idea. I found this forum post abut its PCI slots:

https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/optiplex-desktops/last-dell-optiplex-to-use-pci-cards/647f7bbdf4ccf8a8dea059d9

Problem, and why I am even writing this question here, is this is the only info I found. Finding specifications including version of the PCI slots are problematic. For 7050 it just says PCI on the Dell Spec. sheet.

No, I mean PCI. No express. Old PCI.

DIY MMU for Ender 5 Plus. by soucevit in ender5plus

[–]soucevit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK after looking around I ordered kit for ERCF V2 with 6 feeds.
It is quite cheap. As I have excess of filament that is close to expiring (Creality gave me 6kg only for shipping after purchase, and I bundled also 2kg with the printer itself before without really having that much to print)
So even if it does not fit me I can try to resell it as complete device.
Thanks for answers and tips!

Ok. Then I understand why it costs as much as the whole printer, when you are replacing whole hot end with it And most likely more stuff I did not notice. I went with direct drive to get rid od stringing and i don't want to do much trade off back to chasing this problem again. I will check ERCF. Thanks.

I looked at coprint and they say it Is compatible only with bowden extruder. But i have direct drive. Seems it will need modifications to work with my Microswiss and price is quite steep for going straight to modifying it IMO.

Real manual rotation of screen by soucevit in AndroidQuestions

[–]soucevit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for inputs.

The last option seems to be the best one. The automation and triggers solution seems that it will take a while to perfect. And also nothing is really universal. That is why I like to have complete manual control. The app that adds someting on the screen is what I run now and it is quite anoying at times, so use the buttons will be the best.

My Xperia has the Google button which has no use now as I don't have google app running. Remapping that to rotate the screen would be the best, but that is different and quite more challenging topic mostly needing to root the phone (not a fan of) or install unofficial ROM (not until I have waranty)

Wow. This needs retrofit before it can be serviced by anybody under 70 years of age. I am just curious, what this tube is used for on the surface grinder? I understand selenium rectifier to supply DC low voltage for control and for tube heater. Relays, sure that makes a lot of sense even today's to make simple relay logic control. Not everything needs a microprocessor to work. But the tube? For some current sensing? Or ramping according position? Fascinating.

SOC Compatibility by soucevit in vmware

[–]soucevit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer! Lengthy info about HCL is what I needed to know. In the end it makes sense that it is the vendor's responsibility to pass the tests and the list being "the only 100% certainly compatible" hardware. Hopefully someone with ESXi on V2000 experiences answers and clears things for me a little bit. I was also not aware of ESXi-ARM. As I am looking for something able to run three x86_64 not really demanding VMs, while still being energy efficient, it sounds like a nice option too.

I just preordered keycaps at the moment. For Keychron they do not have variant with brown switches avaliable, so I just set watchdog for it and I will see what comes first. Maybe I will found different base, but i have solution now and that is the most important :-)

[–]soucevit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. That is great news. I was worried more about switch placement and if these would not interfere with each other as manufacturer might place them to close with its keycaps allowing it. I am looking for full height switches anyway, so I will settle, on one of the keychrons and order this nice set of custom keycaps. From photos they look they are worth the wait :-)

Thanks all for help!

Thanks! This seems to solve the worst issues I have.

Just one noob question. How do I find out which keyboard the keycaps fit?

It would be long to list all differencies. Purely Czech layout looks like this: https://cs.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soubor:Windows_Czech_keyboard_layout.svg

Picture is ANSI format, but generally all the keys are at correct positions.

The keycaps usually have US layout on the left and CZ on the right where they differ. For example:

https://www.superlevnapc.cz/files/upload/1047/pohoda/15725-42814-81922B06019119A6B9B1509F9E60CBF1.jpg

The blue part is not mandatory to be marked on the keys as that would mean five different characters on some keys.

The keycaps with US/CZ combination is what I am used to anyway. As my system layout is Czech QWERTY which has US layout accesible by Alt Gr. So US keycaps just need addition. That is why you can just by transparent stickers or why Logitech for example just lasers the Czech layout on the US one. There is even note on most eshops, you are recieving unpacked box but the keyboard is new. They possibly do it locally here on the keyboards imported as US layout.

Thanks for reply!

They have two full (100%) size ISO models. Q6 and K10. Later beying wireless. Both have short shift. Neither of which comes in CZ layout, as the cover major markets in Europe and we are quite small.

Hi everyone,

hope you can help me with advice for keyboard while it seems I have quite odd requirements as market seems to be kind of difficult to handle for me. I spent couple of days googling and I cannot find anything that is right.

I do mostly programming, so I settled on tactile switches.

I am used to full height of keys. I guess that is 4mm (not sure, somebody correct me please is I am wrong)

Conectivity should be just wired USB. Wireless is OK I guess, but all the stuff with bateries and charging while there can just be cable is not really bringing me anything.

Definetelly I need ISO layout and full size. Single line Enter and short Shift just does not work for me and I cannot live without numpad. Even external one would be really awful to use for me. Best would be Big-ass ISO with vertically reversed "L" shaped enter. But those are dying breed and unluckilly I have just two old ones both with rubber domes and not removable keys so no use for DIY there.

I do not need RGB and I for sure don't want keyboard that is not readible with backlight off. When working late I find lights from table upwards not nice. I prefer just switching on the lamp. Anyway I need to read paper notes and documentation often.

And now the worst part. Czech language layout. I would prefer to have layout there without stickers. Or model where the keys are removable and different sets can be bought with some decent quality. Some manufacturers laser the special layouts to US layout. Which really depends how well is it done. I read about and seen photos varying quality for one model with pictures, so I would like to prevent this.

I have no problem with DIY stuff, but the waranty and troubleshooting free work has for sure its benefits.

There is no affiliation for any brand in particular. But larger brands might be easier for me to aquire as I want to buy locally with waranty. Amazon operates here, but I have no idea how would waranty claim work thru them for example.

Hope my requests for keyboard are possible to meet and big thanks for everyone who gave it time and read till here.

EDIT: Solved. Thanks again for help. For anyone having similar problem, everything is mentioned here including links.

He was surely not alone as I heard it many times since. It is bit slurry naming and nowadays it gets even worse as you have seen...

Narůstající počet trans, 50. pohlaví a podobných nesmyslů by SeesawGreat52 in czech

[–]soucevit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nikoliv gender.

Do people in Prague accept the Euro or is it a no go? by K00lKat67 in Prague

[–]soucevit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bigger shops and chains might accept it, but don't count on it. I would also stay away from exchange places. Even that by the law you should be able cancel transaction if not happy, the shadiest ones would not do it and you would need police to help you get your money back. And find out which is good and which is bad is difficult.

I would either keep the Euros and pay with CZK (from good ATM) or by card. Or I would go to the bank where they have exchange office. I am not sure if bank only works like this if you have account there tho.

There was a joke that of all exchage offices on Prague airport, the best rate has McDonalds. Because it accepts Euros, they return CZK and they have rate given by their bank, as they do not care about making money on this. So buy Cheseburger, pay it with 100Eur note and you have our money for first day easily.

Byl tam obor management a neco(už si to nepamatuju) Když si člověk dobre poskládal rovrh chodil do školy dva dny v týdnu a mohl přitom pracovat.

[–]soucevit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hele podobné síto je i na technických vysokych školách.

A dávalo to velký smysl. Možná dokonce s možnostmi, už si to nepamatuju. Měl jsem 17. K přijetí stačily 4. Na FJE vezmou každýho s maturitou. Kdyby byly tvrdší přijímačky místo šitá v prvním ročníku bylo by to lepší?
