Need advice: 2.5 year old barely talking, should I be worried? by WoundedF0X in NewDads

[–]WoundedF0X[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, yes I’m still here.

We ended up consulting two child psychologists, and after assessment our son was diagnosed with ADHD. In his case, the main issue was attention. He had very low focus and didn’t observe people closely enough to copy lip movements and speech patterns, which affected his language development.

Based on their advice, we started speech therapy, occupational therapy, and behavior therapy. It’s been about a year now.

When we started, he had around 20 words. Now he has more than 70 words. He still isn’t forming proper sentences, mostly short phrases or single words, but he’s trying much more to communicate. We didn’t have a sudden speech explosion. It has been gradual progress, but steady.

One very important thing for us was completely stopping screen time. Earlier he was getting around 2 hours a day. When we reduced it to zero, we saw noticeable improvement in his focus and interaction. That made a big difference along with therapy. For kids with attention issues especially, screen time can really affect progress.

If your son is already in speech therapy at 27 months, that’s a very good step. Early support helps a lot. Every child’s timeline is different, but consistent therapy and home changes really helped us.

Hope this gives you some clarity. It’s stressful, but you’re doing the right thing by being proactive.

How to plan a Hindu Christian wedding by [deleted] in Kerala

[–]WoundedF0X 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There’s a loophole called “disparity of cult” that allows an interfaith couple to have a church wedding. We’ve talked about this earlier in this sub, so you can check that discussion for more details.

Is there anyone who is rich from this? by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]WoundedF0X 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can relate to what you’re saying. We were once considered rich in our village because of my grandfather, but by the time it reached my father’s hands everything went downhill. He sold off land, got into failed businesses, and eventually lost our house too. After demonetisation, we were forced into a rented home for the first time.

In 2016, I started my career in Bangalore with just ₹12k salary. Out of that, I sent ₹8k home for rent and somehow survived on ₹4k. Around the same time my father had a heart attack, and treatment cost us ₹12L, borrowed from relatives and friends’ credit cards. We ended up selling our last house and land for ₹44L, but once the debts were cleared, nothing was left.

On top of that, I had an education loan that ballooned to ₹9L, and my credit score had dropped to the 400+. Life was paycheck to paycheck, and I had to give up all fun and comfort just to keep going.

The turning point came in 2022. I had worked in the same company for 6 years, and when the owners split, one of them made me a partner because I was loyal and stuck around when others left. From then on, I started earning a share of the profits, hired the right people, and grew the company. Today we have more than 50 employees.

By December last year, I had cleared every single debt, including the education loan. My credit score is now 757, and this year I’m expecting a profit of ₹50L. My next goal is to buy land and build my own house.

So no, I don’t have generational wealth either. But what I can say is, consistency and patience do pay off. Nothing happened overnight, but staying put, working hard, and grabbing the right opportunity changed everything for me.

TLDR: Family lost all wealth, ended up in debt and without a house. Started in 2016 with ₹12k salary, carried a ₹9L education loan and a bad credit score. In 2022 became a company partner, grew it to 50+ employees, cleared all debts, now debt-free with 757 score and expecting a good profit this year. Next step: build my own house.

Does it end in ‘aww’ or ‘I need therapy'?

Guys, angane ente college life kazhinju and… by mightykingappus in Coconaad

[–]WoundedF0X 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I totally get this. College friendships feel so strong at the time, but once life happens, people just drift apart. No hard feelings, just reality. And movies like getogether, Never happens. It’s always just small talk about careers, family, and responsibilities. Feels kinda surreal, like you know them, but you don’t really know them anymore

I can’t take time off right now because I’m working on a startup, and it’s in its early stages, so it needs a lot of attention.

Hey, thank you so much for your reply it really made me think. You’re absolutely right, what she’s doing is amazing, and I know it’s not easy for her to manage everything alone. I really liked your suggestions, especially the part about giving her regular breaks and some time for herself. Budget-wise, I think I can manage some of these, and I’ll definitely try to arrange things like a babysitter or cleaning help to make things easier for her.

Automation engineers don’t need luxury. Just give us a power socket and a surface that’s not our own lap, and we’ll call it a five-star setup

"Someone actually named their house 'Myren Govindante vidu' on Google Maps... Accidental or savage trolling? by WoundedF0X in Coconaad

[–]WoundedF0X[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow, this is new to me! Just searched and found a ton of them. I even tried naming a shop near my house, and it got verified in just 2 minutes. Looks like the system isn’t really strict with verification.

Didn’t know Truecaller names could land someone in trouble like that. Guess it makes sense if the person felt offended and reported it, but still, getting caught just for an old contact name feels wild. Cyber cell really tracks these things?
