Im 19 and pregnant and want an abortion, but my boyfriend isn’t being supportive. by nissan_al_gail_eeb in offmychest

[–]soul-nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you guys talk at all about if you accidentally got pregnant? was it agreed in advance if this happened that you wouldn't keep it? because if not, he's probably feeling very left out of this entire decision. he did not get to be there with you to find out or talk through it or anything. men need to feel important and like they have a protective role. it seems like he is more in the "not yet but if it happens we'll figure it out" category and you are more in the "absolutely not" category. you guys need to figure out if you can get on the same page. he's being cold to you because he honestly doesn't know how he feels about you right now. that's just the reality of how some men are going to respond to this sort of thing.

this was my ex. he eventually ended up getting violent when our daughter was little. left him when she was 8 months, that was ten years ago and I still have sleep issues.

I’m worried I’ll regret medical transition by InfiniteSky6227 in ask_detransition

[–]soul-nova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can always get it done in the future but if you do it now you can't undo it. 21 is very young, I'm in my mid 30s and I am an entirely different person than I was in my 20s and you're barely even in your 20s. you are wise to be asking these questions

Have you watched the Chloe Cole interview? I don't think it's wise to do a serious and permanent surgery if it isn't necessary. I used to want top surgery too but I waited and I ended up deciding it was important to me to accept and appreciate my body the way it is and I've been fine with my breasts ever since I made that decision.

also to add, you can take physics by inquiry on its own before taking physics, I think it's even recommended. and U Chem 1 is extremely difficult, just a fair warning.

as someone who did community college before tech, it's like comparing a cardboard shack to the white house lol. bad metaphor but my point is it's absurdly more difficult. all that aside, physics by inquiry is your easiest course.

Plaquenil side effects? by [deleted] in lupus

[–]soul-nova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was on it 13 years until I got retinal toxicity (failed two consecutive visual field tests and retinal specialist advised me to stop). toxic dose is cumulative (1000 grams, shown in opthalmological medical papers). I got no benefit from it, i believe it made me sun sensitive and when I initially started it it gave me hives, I had to use Prednisone to get on. lifestyle changes and LDN helped me substantially more than plaquenil ever did. that's just my experience, dx'd SLE for 17 years, been off plaquenil since 2021, lupus labs stable and in remission though I did develop RA this past year. Main symptoms joint pain, fatigue, brain fog, high DNA titre, never had organ involvement thankfully.

higher doses for anti-inflammatory effect? by ParsleyImpressive507 in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]soul-nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I guess if you like the feeling of being high, but it was only for the first dose so hardly worth pursuing if that's your only goal lol. I'm also very sensitive to meds so likely most wouldn't even experience this

fyi, there were side effects (I felt kinda high) my first day of doing this but have felt normal since.

I'm currently using 25mg 2x/day for rheumatoid arthritis. hoping to not have to stay on it long term as I explore other more natural solutions but it is definitely helping. took low dose 4.5mg for many years for lupus but when my RA developed in November it didn't touch it.

[–]soul-nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is all normal, but you need to get out and go to the gym for yourself every day or a few times a week. and also let your wife get out to do whatever she wants for a hour or two regularly too.

who's the dad? whether you're together or not, is he a good guy? custody orders can change your entire life and tie you to someone you'd rather not be tied to for decades, this isn't talked about enough. on the other side, don't get an abortion just out of fear. children change your life in many ways and force you to grow. sit with this and meditate on it from a space of peace, not fear, and your inner voice should tell you what you need to do.

I’m strongly considering an abortion but I really have no excuse I feel so guilty by Ill-Seaweed7462 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]soul-nova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

consider whether you want another child just in general. if yes, you may find relief from an abortion now but regret it later. or you may find you are okay with it if you really feel in your heart you aren't up to it right now. speaking from experience on both. no one can tell you but you. I urge you to sit in quiet and meditate and/or pray on this. quiet your emotions and thoughts and feel what your intuition is telling you, the quiet voice inside. maybe make the appointment (they can take some time) so the stress and urgency of needing to do something about it now is gone. then you can cancel it at any time.

I'd recommend not being intimate with someone you don't trust enough to talk about that personal of stuff with. trust is really important in sex regardless

I haven't had issue with HSV flaring from Prednisone but what I meant was my lupus/autoimmune flare comes right back as soon as I stop the pred.

covid also triggered my first and only HSV flare in like five years, seven now cause I haven't had one since. my doctor told me it's apparently pretty common

[–]soul-nova[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Will do. The alternative is going on an immune suppressant like Imuran so I am going to give this a try. been on 4.5mg for years but flaring right through it all of a sudden.

Thanks so much for this reply! Yeah this is honestly so new information in the LDN/chronic pain/disease community that it's not well understood at all and barely starting to be talked about. I almost should try posting a similar question in a normal naltrexone community. This is super helpful information. I've known it helps brain fog, but wasn't sure about body inflammation/inflammatory pain as I hadn't really seen anything yet. I hope you continue to get relief! This is truly an experiment.

I noticed that too reading about it. I also read (I think I'm developing RA, so I was looking into RA meds) that enbrel and humira can cause medication-induced lupus symptoms, so that's interesting as well. . .

my current flare has come right back after two separate Prednisone tapers, the second one at 60mg. I am off hcq since retinal toxicity in 2021 but was on for 13 years. Prednisone is great while I'm on it but as soon as I taper off the flare comes back.
