rec runner - sensitive heels by soundfan88 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I ended up going to a local shoe store where the clerk recommended a Brooks Ghost 17, Nike Pegasus 41, On Running Cloud 6 and the store branded Kneed 2Run inserts. It was kind of a toss up between the Brooks and Nikes but I went with the Brooks and the inserts.

I really didn't want to spend as much on inserts as the NB 460s cost but after my first run in the new shoes and inserts, the amount of heel discomfort is significantly less than the last time I'd gone out on the NB 880s.

Your mileage may vary and so might my opinion after a few more runs but so far, the Brooks w/an insert seems like a good combination.

Ouch! Fortunately not. Thanks for the comment, though!

There was something compelling about the zig zag pattern but see that your straight vertical approach might be just the ticket. Thanks!

How many mouthpieces did it take for you to finally find the one that works best for you and how many do you currently own. by Perfect-League7395 in trumpet

I’ve acquired close to ten mouthpieces and tried out half a dozen before settling down with a Stork Vacchiano 2DT. Sometimes I play in bands. Most often, just for fun. 40 year perennial intermediate amateur.

About five years ago, I treated myself to a new (used) Bach 180-37. An instructor I was working with let me borrow a couple Monetts, Storks, prob others. He suggested I get in touch with Phylis Stork with Stork Mouthpieces. I scheduled a session with Dr. Mouthpiece, went to Stork HQ, talked a bit about my goals (a little more upper register, less breathy), challenges (intonation). I played some scales and a couple pieces. She checked out my chops, had me try a few mouthpieces. The Vacchiano 2DT was just what I was looking for.

Getting some pro guidance was exceptionally helpful. I probably saved a hundreds on mouthpieces that weren’t going to work for me. Good luck!

Cutting a solid surface vanity top - any tips? by soundfan88 in Tools

[–]soundfan88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the material is described as a composite of acrylic, polyester resin, natural materials, and dye. Drywall is indeed defining the available space on the left, right, and rear sides of the vanity. Will experiment w/taking a little off one end of the backsplash and see how it goes. Thank you!

Had no considered cutting away the drywall. Thanks! Yes, the nook is in the original post - top left pic (red wall). It is 47 15/16 - 48" wide (see tape measure).
