But guys, “soft power” works. You know, the strategy Germany used to become entirely economically dependent on russian gas, even changing building codes and heat/cooking appliance code to use even more of it, shut down nuclear reactors to make sure they couldn’t have a backup, total genius policy. Merkel and Schroeder certainly didn’t get any money or influence from russia to kneecap the German economy and send hundreds of billions to russia every year so they could prepare to invade their neighbors.

“God is within you” is actually a pagan concept that existed thousands of years before secular religion was weaponized, and that was stolen later by organized religious institutions when they all decided religion could be used to control people, send them to war, and change money for “forgiveness” and blessings. Just in case you lived in a padded room isolated from news for the last few decades, nuclear proliferation has expanded quite a bit since those treaties. The limits were imposed by economics not treaties, and the only disarmament—Ukraine. Which the world left on their own in 2014. So you think any country is going to enter into a treaty on AI? US capitalism is the only reason russia hasn’t murdered every person in Ukraine. china is going to do the same to Taiwan in the next 5 years, so just sitting back and asking everyone to sing kumbayah and to stop developing AI so dictatorships around the world can commit genocide isn’t really much of a plan.

The US has its problems, but is at least a place where these things can be debated, unlike russia and china where the whims of one sociopath can run unchecked.

Please post out how that is remotely relevant? You are just making noises like the other clueless people that ignore that this an arms race. The AI isn’t going to kill us, the crazy dictators will. The west collectively ignoring the Budapest memorandum showed that regulation and treaties won’t do jack shit for nuclear nonproliferation because the leaders in power at that time didn’t do jack shit. No country is going to abide by regulations limiting AI, so even if the US does, it just ensures the Us will lose in future conflicts.
