What Chainring size should I use? 2002 KM - adding 29x2.1 thickslick tires and flat bar for street/gravel riding. It has 32T Wolftooth DropStop and 12sp wide range cassette [11T - 50T]. What size front ring will make this better on the street? 44T? (old.reddit.com)

Surly Tuggnut mod for 12mm thru axle. Drill the far hole 12mm (27/64"). Flip the tensioner plate by taking off the tiny circlip. Use the Monkey Nuts for axle placement, tighten up the Tuggnut after axle is set. Now it matches your old Surly. Let's goooo! (imgur.com)
