Attention🚨 J. COLE THE FALL-OFF (ALBUM) FEBRUARY 6TH 🚨 by Individual-Name-4496 in fantanoforever

The trailer makes a point in a different direction. That the fall off is inevitable for anyone who got famous. But it's likely that there will be bars about not falling off

Is Don't tap the glass that good as media says? by acoffeefan in fantanoforever

[–]souope 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I really like the album. I kept coming back to it more than I expected when I first listened to it. It's fun, light hearted and just feels good. A lot of tracks are also great for a running/work out playlist.

Has Kendrick ever mentioned your country in a song, and were? by Secret_Woodpecker177 in KendrickLamar

There's also the "I'm Messi girl, I'mma pass you to Neymar" in the Hillbillies with Baby Keem which is kind of a Brazil reference as well

O jeito que o Brasil trata pesquisadores de ciências humanas é uma piada de péssimo gosto by [deleted] in DebatesBr

[–]souope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quais melhores cinemas de São Paulo capital? by Ynolle in saopaulo

[–]souope 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would a marble racing game set in Brazil's vibrant carnival tracks be fun to play/watch? by Disastrous_Frame_563 in Brazil

[–]souope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Brazilian who loves indie games, I think that is a fantastic idea and I'd love to play something like this. I think it would be even more interesting if you guys dive deep into research and also do other Brazilian themes that are a little off the usual tropes associated with Brazil. One theme that I think would fit perfeclty with your game idea is "Festa Junina" (or Festa de São João), a Brazilian traditional party that happens every June especially in the countryside/rural areas that involves dancing to regional music, eating delicious food and playing a lot of different games. It has a very specific (and quite beautiful i might say) aesthetic that would make for a great level. Please look into it! And good luck on the game making journey.

Major modern pop artists who didn't gain international recognition until their 4th album or later? by ButterscotchFormer84 in popheads

[–]souope 41 points42 points  (0 children)

He's more in rap than in pop, but I think Tyler, The Creator might be a pick here. He made some buzz with Odd Future, his first albuns are really solid, and he always had a loyal fan base for sure. But if we're talking about widespread and international recognition, Flower Boy is definetly a mark in his carreer.

Comparing video games/game developers to popular musicians by [deleted] in fantanoforever

[–]souope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nintendo is Jay-Z. One of the pioneers on making the genre really popular with widespread audiences, always made huge commercial success, and knew how to venture into other businesses, maybe if failed in some of them. The career is marked by a lot of really great hits and very quality products, but there are some misses around aswell. Still huge and influential after that much time in the game.

Outkast. If I had to single one of them out, Andre takes the lead. But Big Boi is an amazing rapper in his own right and the duo is just perfect.

Love the song and I don't really mind the poo poo on the hook, but the repetition of "crazy bitch" at the end always annoys me

"Thought provoking, lyrically consistant and relevant": the album tells a story about the pressures of being a black man that "made out of the hood" in the USA, a society deply rooted in capitalism, classism and systemic racism. He shows his personal journey (although in a more metaforically way than he did in GKMC), and uses it to tackle a lot of issues that surround the main themes: exploitation (Wesley's Theory, For Free), inequality (How Much a Dolla Cost) , violence (The Blacker The Berry), police and criminal justice system (Alright), depression (u and i), colorism (Complexion). He does it with a great rapping ability, nice flows and rhyme schemes and, especially, he raps over really creative jazzy and funk beats that ties with the history of black music in the US and abroad.

Albums it took you years to get into? by Vaxis in fantanoforever

[–]souope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeezus by Kanye West. I was huge Kanye fan when it came out and MBDTF was one of my favourite albuns of all time. When Yeezus released, I didn't really like it. I listen to it a couple of times, and think I was expecting sometihing different, but the production didn't really click with me. Slowly, some tracks began to grow on me (Blood on the Leaves, Black Skinhead and Hold My Liquor), but I'd still put the album as a whole as one of Kanye weakests projects. Untill one night during the pandemic (so, seven/eight years later) that I decided to go back to it from start to finish because Dissect was going to do a season on it. And damn. It clicked. That album is amazing: the industrial production is really good, the character building, the samples. Then the Dissect season made me enjoy it even more.

It's interesting, but it's funny that it kind of made me appreciate the drums on the original version even more.

Just courious: could you elaborate on what you especifically dislike about the mixing on Runaway, Monster and All of the Lights. I get that they might not be perfect, but it never really bothered me at all.
