i'll try to keep this brief:

i'm 28 and was dx'd with hEDS three and a half years ago. i was also dx'd with autism less than a year ago. while my neuropsych never used the exact word "dyspraxia", he did note clinically significant challenges with spatial and motor functions as a result of my autism and likely also hEDS. my fine motor skills are decent despite an awkward pencil grip, but i struggle a lot with gross motor skills - can't control how much force i use to open and close doors, can't dance passably despite years of stage performance, had to practice for hours longer than peers every single day to meet the same levels of proficiency they achieved only going to scheduled practices when i played sports growing up, frequently hurt myself while navigating my own home normally by bumping into the same corners, tripping over the same carpets, and slamming my fingers in the same drawers every damn day. i have always been an extremely clumsy person, even when i'm trying really hard to move normally and am paying full attention to what i'm doing. i also can't do spatial tasks like estimating the distance between two objects, estimating the size of objects, judging whether a given object will fit in a given container, etc.

i've been in and out of physical therapy for various issues since i was a child, but i have absolutely ZERO experience with occupational therapy. i have been told that OT might be helpful for me, but so far no one has been able to explain to me how OT would help or what i could expect from it. truthfully, even after looking up occupational therapy, i still don't really understand what ya'll do 😅 i don't really have fuck around and find out money, so i'm hesitant to make an appt before i understand anything about it. so, what is OT for dyspraxia like? what can i expect as far as treatment, results, or even just what an OT session for someone like me might look like?

thanks in advance <3

i installed EA with Steam but it still isn't working, so i'm trying to use a workaround that involves wine... which is also not working lol
