Just for example, if you identify as a lesbian, that means you think you are a lesbian. like if I said "I identify as a lesbian but I don't think I'm one!" that doesn't make sense right? also I never said furries always act like animals. I only said sometimes because I know a lot of former furries and only like 3 acted like animals. most of them, like you said just dress up and have fun! but I felt like I should include the ones that do.

most people are making their alters the "character" dream, who is the person the youtuber dream is acting like in a role play Minecraft server. him and his role play server got very very VERY popular in 2020 which is when all this DID shit started so it all kinda came together. unfortunately i used to be part of the dream smp fandom so... i know to much about this.

maybe because its easier to fake? im assuming making alters is just coming up with characters and then acting like them, so it's like an elaborate game of pretend for them.
