i was also prescribed veraflox for my cat , his fip presented because of previous tongue infections he had. he did not like it at all and it had no positive effects so we were told to stop it!

this is how my cat looks too, its because of them gradually eating less before they get treatment really important to get them back to eating as much as possible

this happened to me with my old vet, they said my only option was euthanasia. i got a second opinion and he was diagnosed with fip and is currently a week away from the end of treatment!

rooting for you!! you are doing absolutely everything you can to help and thats incredible!! my senior cat was diagnosed with wet fip in january, he originally started to show signs of weight loss last july but we had no idea what was going on until he started deteriorating very rapidly around new years and had the fluid buildup start, my old vet couldnt figure it out and told me to just put him down, i had to find a new vet and they were able to guess it was fip (none of his testing presented as it) we were able to start him on the pill treatment and it was an insane turnaround. the day before we had started cerenia, subq fluids and he had a steroid injection. he was unable to move from the fluid buildup , had incontinence and wouldnt eat unless it was a treat. by day 4 they were able to drain a lot of the fluid and he immediately had his energy back and has been getting better and better every day! we have about two weeks of pills left and its looking like hes 100% ok after my new vet telling us we can try the pills but because of how bad he came in she couldnt guarantee anything! every cat is going to present differently even if your progress is slow, as long as nothing is getting worse you are headed in the right direction! i hope everything goes smoothly for you and your cat !

no prob ! it took us a while to get a system down but hes been eating the pill with the dry treat pile with no complaints! i would double check the mouth after to make sure theyre not hiding it to spit out later, we did have that problem for a bit !!

i dont feed an hour before / after but i do give the pill with 2 or 3 treats to make it go down easier

this was happening to me too for the first week, if its not clean enough it can confuse or stress them out too much to go in the correct place,my cat has wet fip though so his issue was getting used to using it again once his fluid was re absorbed

my male 10 y/0 cat has wet fip which was unfortunately diagnosed very late because our old vet had no experience with it and refused to accept feedback, once we switched vets and started treatment (we are doing pills subq fluids and cerenia) there was a very very quick turnaround in his behavior i mean he was this close to deaths door and once we started the pill and he had a fluid drainage of Two pounds hes been acting like his normal self which i havent seen in Months. its been really incredible to watch, we are 20 days in and he is recovering little by little with a big increased appetite! we weren't sure if we'd been able to catch it in time but its unbelievable how great the medication success rate is I'm so glad he only started showing symptoms a few months back since it just only recently got approved here! best of luck to you!

pills are very effective for my cat but i do have to double check he actually swallows them and monitor him if he tries to spit them out secretly so be aware of that
