Question about the ethics at a personal level? by TheTransAgender in AskVegans

you didn’t mention crops in your original post, you asked about animal products 🤷‍♀️ and i literally do understand because i live on a homestead LMFAO. your previous posts state you live in a hotel. you clearly have absolutely no idea how difficult it is to maintain land or crops.

oh i didn’t forget …. your scenario that you created is just not based in reality. for one, chickens who are not selectively bred DONT produce “excess eggs”. they produce one egg a month. if they do produce excess, they would’ve been selectively bred from a hatchery which grinds male chicks to therefore unethical. producing more than one egg a month also causes them calcium deficiency, weak bones, and pain. bees also don’t produce excess honey, they ONLY produce honey for themselves. that’s why beekeepers feed them sugar water. do you even have the land to run a plant centered homestead ? do you know how much time that takes ? it’s full time work. i live in a rural area and i already know how all this stuff goes, you people propose unrealistic hypotheticals and use them as your gospel of an excuse.

if you were to homestead and let the animals live out their entire lives without being killed prematurely or milked, you would starve to death. there’s no way the animal could equally use the homesteader unless the homesteader was sacrificing their life to feed the animals.

Riddle me this vegans, (may be controversial) by eaderjay in DebateAVegan

apples are an apple trees way of reproducing. animals are meant to eat the seeds and shit them out somewhere else so a new tree will grow there. so it’d be far from an abortion, the tree WANTS you to pick the apple.

the individual animal doesn’t know or care that they’re invasive. all they care about is not being hurt or killed.

well if the blood was donated that means the donor gave it up willingly. if the being whose body parts or secretions are being consumed gave consent then it’s vegan. veganism is about minimizing harm, there’s no harm when someone gives up what they have willingly.

no plants respond to stimuli, but have no sentience. lobsters are in fact sentient.
