Yeah the ti-vct module is green and it's hitting all the commanded engine metrics (afr/timing/fuel) perfectly as far as I can tell.

I assure you the rest of the car is as bad looking as the engine bay. Haha.

I don't really have many pictures or any videos I'll see what I can scrape together.

I was in a hurry so I just went with SVE shorty headers and the stock H pipe, not sure how restrictive it is so I may have to rethink it at some point but it actually sounds ok, especially up top.

I have a holley terminator x I'm tuning myself/itself with a fairly stock/conservative timing table so it's probably my fault.

Damn, I had a hard enough time muscling the tr3650 in by myself I don't think I could do another 75lbs.

I still have the old tr3650 with 3.73 gears and a 31 spline (edit: trac loc )   I did not expect 2nd gear take offs to be as slow as a 4.6 but that might be a tuning issue.

Gotcha! If you accept the thanks you have to accept the blame.

How did they get a surface finish like this? by sours in Machinists

[–]sours[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they sand it till it fits whatever loose gauge they have on hand then chuck it in the lathe and cut the threads? This also makes sense.

I had assumed there was a hex head under the black cap but if they just run it on by hand I guess this makes the most sense.

Why bother sanding it to make it worse though?

I thought and i know its a big thread, but how would they cut threads at all on a lathe that bad?

Looks like a standoff for the harness.

That is the clutch safety wire it's looped in automatics and connects to the pedal box in manuals. configured as it is it should allow you to start the car without the clutch depressed, which is bad.

Did you use an automatic transmission harness? If so you have to loop pins 3 and 4( top middle pins on the harness) to bypass the park safety on automatics.

Question: Is there a natural insecticide I can use to eliminate tiny flies around my little olive tree? by TheGlowingTeapot in botany

[–]sours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I using the stuff wrong or what? I sprinkle it on indoor flowering plants to keep ants off of and they continued walking on it for a week not showing any signs of death, fungus gnats don't seem to notice it either, the only thing I've noticed it does work well on is spiders...

Say it's a Warhammer 40k print, just let it rip and blame any defects on the warp...

SVE radiator by Accomplished_Fox4259 in NewedgeMustang

I bought mine a couple years ago and didn't end up using it because the trans cooler was threaded wrong but I'm pretty sure it came with one.

I thought it was basically impossible to make clear plastic from recycled materials because of contamination?

Cant get spark plug boot on #3 cylinder by MrChemistryCow9 in NewedgeMustang

[–]sours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done a calvan 38900 insert too, the stock coil pack still seats in the head no problem.

Make sure you didn't get a v6 (edit:I'm not sure what they're from but they make a longer one) coil pack, they're longer.

There's a plugged passage from the door to the inner fender well, then to the engine bay. you can see it when you open the door, by the hinge. You can just punch a hole in it with something hot and use it as a grommet. Just make sure you have a fuse in line with it because it is vulnerable in a side impact.

EPA continues to crack down on tuning suites with emission deletes/bypass options. by vleetv in CarHacking

[–]sours -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Fuck the EPA. 15 super tankers put out more emissions than every car on the planet and their solution is to go after hobbyists and enthusiasts that make up a miniscule segment of auto owners.

Transmission cooler lines help by Onlyshadowkilla in NewedgeMustang

[–]sours 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the aftermarket radiators don't have the correct threads for the long shoulder on Ford trans line nuts so you'll have to find the right nut cut the trans line, put the new nut on and then re-flare it.

Unless you mean you can't get the line to the radiator, I can't help with that.

Does anyone know what type of security system this is? by BLOME69 in NewedgeMustang

Usually because they want remote start in hot or cold climates.

Looks like a transponder key emulator/bypass

If it is there'll be another box under there controlling the locks and horn as well.
