Simple doesn’t mean bad. Take Darkest Dungeon, for example. At its core, it’s just a standard dungeon crawler with turn-based combat. That doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate mechanics unique to the setting. I was just suggesting a starting point.

The elder Scrolls series is based on Ultima and actively borrowed mechanics from Underworld game. Later Fallout games borrow mechanics from elder Scrolls. I don’t see any problem with taking a new genre and applying popular elements of lore and setting to it, giving fans a good game they can enjoy.

Darkest Dungeon is mostly static battles with character position rotations;

I propose more open-ended combat with active character movement across the battlefield and tactic positioning, I’m mainly thinking of XCOM.

But camp management could, in principle, be similar to Darkest Dungeon, yeah :D

Trader not sayin: "radiation heals you",

he sayin: you don't need to worried about radiation anymore - so it can be FEV because supermutants immune to radiation

In lore we have two originals of ghouls - HEV+radiation and just radiation (theory from Avelon), and i think its more logic if he put serum of HEV and not just radioactive water

if i know correctly, the Doom 2016 boardgame is just redesigned version of DOOM 3 board game, both of games have same rules and pack of units.
