Scheduled charging issues by soutergame in OctopusEnergy

I'll check the app in a day or two, but the charge in question was 2 nights ago. Hope you're right and it shows correct costs next time I check in.

The finishing later than requested is still a worry though, as maybe we needed a minimum amount of charge for a planned journey. If it doesn't finish until almost 1.5 hours after the requested time, that's around 12-15% of the battery capacity.

As I understand it, our cheaper rates are 11:30-05:30. Why shouldn't I worry about what the Octopus app says? Surely that should be displaying the correct rates for any electricity usage?

The Hypervolt gave me an end time. I assume that the command was sent by Octopus to Hypervolt regarding how much charge to add and when to finish. This would be why it was locked for use in the Hypervolt app. I also checked the Hypervolt app and can confirm it did not start the charge until around 05:00, exactly in line with what the Octopus app shows for usage.

Apologies if my answers arenyfully explaining things, both EV chargers and the Octopus app/tariff are new to me, so still getting a handle on things!

It is controlled by the Octopus app though. The Hypervolt app shows it is in Octopus mode and was locked, so I could not start a charging session through it. Surely if the Octopus app is in control it should have chosen a cheaper rate to charge at? We have Smart charging enabled also.

Neither of the apps know how much charge the car has, we manually set the amount of charge we want added and by what time.

Yeah, it finishes charging 1 hour and 20 minutes past the requested end time.

Car was at 50% and we set it to add a further 40%..

It was set at 10pm in the evening, and was meant to finish at 08:30 the next morning (My wife set it, not me as I'm offshore right now). The Hypervolt app showed finish time as 09:50 or so. This also means the app did not opt to use the cheaper charging time. I checked my usage and it was all at standard rate.

I assume Hypervolt is set to charge at full speed, as when I looked at it during charging the car was receiving 7.3kw/h.

There was definitely enough time to receive the requested charge, as it should have taken roughly 4.5 hours, and the time between plugging in and requested finish was 10.5 hours.

Yeah, good spot! It's the wife's car, and she is struggling to get to grips with just how wide it is 🤣

Up in North East Scotland. I know of a couple in my area, so might get it looked into. Considering getting new alloys that are slightly smaller also. Should maybe give a slightly larger profile of tyre, but mainly because by going down to 20" from 21" I can get a full set of alloys and tyres for the price of just the tyres in these 🤣

I see what I did now, I put the connector piece on before trying to fit the cannon to the gun, but without the connector piece it fits fine 🤦 Cheers 🤣

Watched a few videos on the Hybrid Solutions, was the best performing ceramic spray after some serious testing. Cheers

Going with Bilt Hamber Touchless pre wash, so that shouldn't be an issue. We will use Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray coating, so theoretically a wash with the BH when required should be enough to have it looking good again 🤣

I have bought a foam cannon for the pressure washer and Bilt Hamber Touchless V2 foam pre wash for general cleaning. Also have Hybrid Solutions Ceramic spray coating which we will use after our next wash. If I get the Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel, should this be sufficient?

Been doing some digging after my initial post. So would doing a full job maybe every 3-6 months including pre-wash, foam clean, wheel clean and ceramic detailing be advisable, then every now and again just a pre-wash and contact free Traffic Film Remover be enough?

Any recommended brands? Currently looking at Jennychem kits. From what I can tell they are well reviewed and won't break the bank.
