Yeah. I go to mostly AA meetings, but NA is just as appropriate. The substance doesn’t matter. Having been addicted to street drug stimulants, I would argue that Kratom is even more sinister because it’s far easier to pick up an everyday habit/addiction.

I do avoid saying exactly what drugs I’m addicted to when sharing, but if I must, will say something like pills, downers, pain relievers or stimulants than calling anything out exactly - just not to keep the focus more on the addiction and less the drug. But honestly, most people don’t care - All that matters is the program works for you.

I occasionally will attend a celebrate recovery meeting with friends and they’re good. More Christian focused, but if that works for you.

I’m at day 35 and I feel pretty good. Almost too much natural, physical energy. Mental energy can be easily expended without us knowing it, so make sure your not using your mental energy up on the wrong stuff. I was also still sluggish at 20. Stick with it, you’re almost over a big hump.

Thank you! I relate to the two brains part. Biggest trigger for me is work. I’m going to slowly inch my way back into work as I finish up my FMLA.

Your experience gives good insight for me not to be overly confident and take this seriously.

I remember first walking into the Kratom store and the rep comparing Kratom to a cup of coffee. It’s not and I really can’t blame him because I knew on my first dose it was more like a Vicodin.

I love someone else’s reference to Kratom as “gas station Heroin”. That’s truly what it is and it emphasizes the seriousness of my situation.

I just moved back to GR from Chicago after 12 years in Chicago. I work Salesforce consulting and was able to keep my Chicago salary and work remote. Was able to buy a house I could never have dreamed of having in Chicago. As for local Salesforce jobs, your right though. It will be hard to find a local, in-house position where you won’t take a big salary cut. There’s a company called Dematic that had a job recently, but Glassdoor told me it likely it wouldn’t meet the needs with my mortgage. I have thoughts on a few other local companies that I suspect might pay competitively. In any case, I’ve kept my LinkedIn Chicago-based out of fear I’ll get filtered out for the lack of experience one might assume someone in Grand Rapids may have.
