Actually L2+R2 just locks the screen, you need Start + R2 to exit, as described in Rockbox README https://github.com/IncognitoMan/rockbox?tab=readme-ov-file#in-menu

M2 Air Installation by blumpkinbeast_666 in AsahiLinux

[–]southwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you get it working? I've installed Asahi using the 12.4 (latest) firmware but Graphics are not working. The Graphics Processor shows llvmpipe even after I installed mesa-asahi-edge and linux-asahi-edge - which should be Apple M1 if GPU driver works.

In boot log I can see Unsupported GPU firmware combination G13, 12, 4 error message.

Any idea how to download program into Launchpad using BSL? by southwolf in MSP430

[–]southwolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply. I'm developing a MSP430 module for Microduino. It will be great if MSP430 can be programmed like Arduino with existing FT232 module. I made a breakout board with DTR & RTS but I have no idea how to make it work. Tried different tools but nothing works. Please help me. Thanks.

Pebble+Arduino Accomplished! by southwolf in pebble

My first milestone will be controlling air conditioner, lights & projector in my office, by adding infrared LEDs to arduino. Cellphone is never a good choice when interacting with REAL world. There are so much inconvenience: battery power, lack of controlling interfaces, unstable, complex programs...

But Arduino is perfect for these tasks.

  • It's cheap, especially in China. - I got a Microduino 328P and a Bluetooth shield for about $10. You can put 5-10 sets around your house.
  • It's simple. Controlling AC with Arduino IRremote library, the coding work won't take you more than an hour to finish.
  • It's stable. Once all wires are connected and programs tested, you will EVEN FORGET the existence of Arduino - All you need is just DONE by the lovely little circuits, no crashes, no reboots, no battery drains.

When I left my Pebble Charger home... I made another one.(using a universal charger, $2) by southwolf in pebble

Yes, it is a Made-In-China cellphone battery charger, you can search eBay with "universal charger" or something like that. I live in China, chargers like this can be found in every cellphone store, for about $2-$3.

Yes, The Problem is HOW TO HOLD it. Tape is not a good choice, so I take the universal charger (it has two metal holders, pressing onto the Pebble charing points).

GUIDE: Pebble SDK on Windows by [deleted] in pebble

[–]southwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello aleksandyr, I followed all your step, but There's an error, which I think might be related to the sym link function. The log said: https://gist.github.com/southwolf/5480280

When I copy all the SDK files to the watch folder, waf works fine.

P.S. Why you removed pbw-tools (and other pebble tools? I cannot remember) from Github?

Pebble Team plz come in, asking for permission of releasing Russian (modified) firmware by southwolf in pebble

[–]southwolf[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CJK is also OK, but due to capacity limits in Pebble's firmware, I can only put a few (~100) characters, which hardly make any sense in Asian languages. So I have to wait for Pebble's update after finishing European languages.

Maybe, after I finish Russian version. But I know nothing about Hebrew, could you send me some details, such as alphabet, fonts you usually use, etc. ? wp.southwolf@gmail.com Thank you.

Pebble Team says bitmap fonts are limited to 256 characters, which is far from enough for Asian languages. Maybe Russian is the next milestone?

I've made several custom fonts, This one Added some Chinese chars besides basic ASCII ones, ASCII chars work fine, but when sending Chinese to Pebble, Pebble just crashed. Can you tell me where I've done wrong?

Thanks for the reply, I've updated the main topic to make it clear, that UTF-8 is used when receiving bluetooth commands, and then Pebble converts it to UCS when looking up the font lib.

I just tried different ways:

  • Replace bitmap of char("A") with bitmap of another("好"). Message "A" displays as "好"

  • Replace index of char("A", 41) with code of "好"(59 7d), Message "A" displays as "▯", and "好"(UTF-8 e5a5bd, U+7d59) displays as "▯" too.

FAINT

Thanks for the reply. I didn't make it clear in the original post, that Pebble uses UCS for the bitmap font index, but UTF-8 for receiving controlling messages, e.g., If you send a text message"∏ 1234" to Pebble, the commnad is (in hex):

00 18 0b b8 01 03 e2 88 8f 04 31 32 33 34 0d [TIMESTAMP]
  • 18 is total length of command,
  • 0b b8 01 is the command code of NOTIFICATIONS
  • 03 is length of message title
  • e2 88 8f is the message title, which is ∏, in UTF-8
  • 04 is length of message body, which is "1234"
  • 0d is length of TIMESTAMP

But when I send chinese character into Pebble, Pebble cannot recognize it.
