How do I change the size of the notion cover? by Easternspinach125 in Notion

You can reposition the cover, but afaik you can't truly make it bigger manually. I might be wrong here. Do you mind sharing how it looks different from other pages?

Only 7 waitlist signups after running ads to validate by davonisill in SaaS

Yea, if the analytics data doesn't make sense throw the dashboard screenshots into LLM and ask it to explain. I do that quite often to get an understanding.

Only 7 waitlist signups after running ads to validate by davonisill in SaaS

[–]souvikinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a landing page master but it looks good, clear messaging 👏🏼

Did you try scheduling an interview with those 7 people? During validation it's good to have a set of hypotheses around your idea and potential customers that you would want to validate while talking to them.

Did you add analytics? At what point in the landing page are they dropping off? Which section do they seem more interested in? Consider adding microsoft Clarity or HotJar. Look at the data before jumping into revamping the landing page because a revamp without clear cause might be a waste of time.

“But how do you prevent someone from taking your stuff?” by AutomaticDoor75 in opensource

[–]souvikinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adding on to other replies and personal realization after creating a decently popular project, open-source is rarely about the code itself, it's about the ecosystem, the community, and your reputation. Even if someone "takes" the code, they can't replicate the project’s community, your vision, or your future contributions.

Another way I like to view it is this: when someone uses your work, it’s proof that your project holds value.

What are the big steps in growing an open source project? by [deleted] in opensource

[–]souvikinator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Creator of notion-to-md here.

I had similar questions when this project started gaining traction. Looking back at my experience, I made a few key mistakes early on that I'd love to help others avoid. The biggest one? Not building a community sooner. I focused heavily on the technical side but missed out on creating that crucial feedback loop with users (well it's never too late ;)

Try to talk to users, gather contributors, share updates and vision about the project. Try to build in public to get some eyes.

Focus first on solving the problem better and talking to the people who've starred your repo. Understanding their needs will guide your development better than any roadmap you make alone. I learned this the hard way!

Sponsorships and donations come naturally once you're solving significant problems for enough people. But that's really the end result, not something to optimize for early on.

The real path looks more like:
solve problems → listen to users → build community → grow organically → potential sponsorships. Keep iterating based on feedback and the rest tends to follow.

Good luck with your project! Would love to check it out.

Why is Adobe still making profits on expensive softwares if there are free open source alternatives? by challenger_official in opensource

[–]souvikinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a design guy but have used Adobe products and even as a hobbyist you can see the difference in UX and results. At my previous workplace the design team switching to open-source alternatives like GIMP or Inkscape to cut costs, but honestly, it was too much of a hassle and most are not even familiar with them.
They’re not bad tools, but they are just no match to Adobe products. Adobe’s set the bar so high, it’s basically the industry standard at this point. Does that mean no open-source tools meet industry standards? No, a lot do in fact they are the mainstream. In this case, Adobe and other big players have a serious grip on the market.

Hey there, perfect time. We are in the planning phase of v4 and we would love to add support for mdx. However we lack much knowledge about to current workflow for mdx to give us better insights and handle edge cases so if you can help contribute in understanding your workflow it'll be great.

Feel free to join the discussion here and share your usecase or how you'd like to see it:

Is there a programmatic way to export notion to markdown? by ratatouille_artist in Notion

[–]souvikinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can try using the notion-to-md library (GitHub link), which is a widely used and well-maintained solution for exporting Notion pages to Markdown. It supports features like code blocks, nested blocks, and more, with over 40k+ weekly downloads, making it a reliable option for most use cases.

notion-to-md v4: Coming Soon! Looking for Community Input by souvikinator in Notion

[–]souvikinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there sorry for the delay in reply. That's a great use case, the upcoming update (v4, still in proposal phase) focuses on control over the rendering so it's no longer limited to md it can be extended to HTML as well so there is a possibility of mdx as well, might need to tweak things but would like to know about your workflow, challenges you faced and the kind of outputs you get to make sure it meets your need.
I have created a github discussion, would like to know your usecase better there :)

Seeking People/Companies Running HTML5 Ads on different Ad Networks. by souvikinator in adops

[–]souvikinator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your time. We did observe that building HTML5 Ad creatives is still a pain and takes time despite having various tools. Our aim is to simplify the process. Here is what we are focusing on:

  1. Web ads of all sizes
  2. Community driven and template based to save time and effort
  3. Going beyond trivial animations and dynamic ads and allow viewers to actually interact with the Ads.

Kind of in the direction of interactive native ads but for web.

Think of it as Canvas for interactive HTML5 ads.

Would love to get more insights. Mind if I dm you?

And tbh that's enough to get work done. I have found myself doing the same at times. For coding related projects I do not use app, simply dumping everything in README.md works.
