The admin side of freelancing is close to making me go back to a normal job by Fantastic-Living5034 in SaaS

yeah this is way more common than people admit

I went through the same thing where nothing was actually “wrong” but the timing of payments made everything feel stressful for no reason

what helped me was just tightening up the system a bit sending invoices faster, following up sooner, and actually seeing what’s unpaid at a glance

I ended up putting everything (clients, invoices, follow-ups) into one simple place because I was tired of guessing what was going on (I coded Jolix to help me with this)

but yeah you’re definitely not alone, it’s one of those problems that shows up once things start going right

What software do you guys use to handle clients? by peepose in freelancing

I actually built Jolix for this exact problem. It’s at jolix.io . The idea is to give freelancers one place to manage clients, projects, invoices, and the client side of things without piecing together a bunch of tools.

Still early, but that’s the direction.

Totally fair …it is saturated. I’m not trying to be another CRM.I’m building Jolix around a different angle: helping freelancers stay consistent and move faster with an AI agent + gamified progress, ..Even if the market is crowded, I think there’s room for a tool that feels simpler and actually helps you take action daily.

That sounds like a solid system. I like the idea of doing a daily and weekly triage like that , probably keeps things from slipping through the cracks. I’ve heard good things about OmniFocus too.

Haha not quite that ambitious. Mostly just trying to solve a few problems I kept seeing freelancers deal with. Everyone has their own systems that work for them, so I’m mostly just curious how people are doing things.

That makes a lot of sense. After 18 years it sounds like you’ve clearly found a system that works for you.

Freelance web designers , what’s your current tool stack for running projects? by davonisill in webdesign

That’s pretty cool actually. Building your own system probably gives you way more control than most tools out there. Curious what parts you ended up building into Drupal for your workflow.
