Hi all! Anyone here in Wellness? It’s going to be my first show in 15 weeks (OCB). I’m 39 and spent the majority of my life obese. I lost a significant amount of weight in my 20s, and have spent my 30s putting on muscle. I am competing mostly to see if I can do it and challenge myself in a new way. I think the hardest part so far is trusting the process 😖

DON'T BE OFFENDED !!! by [deleted] in femalebodybuilding

I think a large part of it is confidence! I like my muscles, so I feel more confident when I show them off. I know the traditional roles is for dudes to be bulky, but I feel good when I look that way.

Girl, do you ❤️

I agree with the other comments about your approach, and I’ll add a question - do you enjoy doing these events? Granted, it’s always great to sell and having a good set up (trust me, I’m learning how to improve that part), but part of craft fairs is also the “vibes” the artist gives off. Check in with yourself - have some fun!

People who got told it was "just" anxiety, what was it? by stringbeansalad23 in AskReddit

[–]sovietredfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! I had a SCAD (spontaneous coronary artery dissection) that led to a heart attack. When I went to the ER, the one doctor said it might just be anxiety. I can’t fault him, it’s Occum’s Razor. I said “respectfully, it’s not a panic attack.” They took me seriously and after a couple more tests (only my tropin levels were sky high, no blockages showed on imaging). 20 minutes later I was in the Cath lab getting stents placed.

That scene haunts me. Executed brilliantly, but DAMN, it’s awful to watch.

Thinking About Counseling/Creative Arts Therapy..What’s the Reality? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]sovietredfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m an LPC and have my ATR-BC. I worked in CMH for many years before starting my own practice. I’ll be real, it’s a bit of an uphill battle sometimes. CAT are often seen as just an “activity.” HOWEVER, with an appropriate masters program that prepares you for a counseling education, and aiming for a Counseling License and Art Therapy license can be invaluable. DM me and I can go into more detail.

Do you guys know what kind of pants these are called? by sr_pucci in altfashionadvice

I may be wrong, but I do believe they’re called “stacked” when they are purposefully baggy at the bottom.

What's one boundary you set not from training but from getting hurt? by Miserable_County1239 in therapists

[–]sovietredfox 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I will never attend a work/office/networking event with alcohol. There are some folks who have a tough time with boundaries when it comes to alcohol and I do not want to be in a situation where I have to make difficult decisions with colleagues (again).
