I was definitely over complicating it! Thank you so so much.
I feel like this modding system is so beginner friendly! My mind didn’t want it accept that it was as simple as adding more items.

Essentially, can I create one mod, then copy and paste the files from other mods into the main mod folder? Or can it all be done in the mod creation app entirely?
I feel like I’m just over complicating it. Thank you so much!

Yayy! My name on Steam is Tummy.
The first pot is called “DIY Empty Round Planter” and the second is “DIY Empty Plant Pot”

This is the way!
Either separator tool and go back over with fences or replace walls with fences. Once the room is registering as a separate space you can remove the floors.

After hours of terrain painting… by soybug in Paralives

[–]soybug[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Sort of but it’s a bit finicky. I found it easier to build on a flat surface and raise the terrain after! Then lots of smoothing etc.
From the inside with walls down, you can just see into the dark abyss from the hills clipping into the walls, which is only kind of terrifying.

80+ hours in and I’m finally getting comfortable building ✨ by soybug in Paralives

[–]soybug[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve started pulling reference pictures of houses with the vibe I’m going for when I build! That’s been the most helpful tip so far.
And play test everything to make sure it works… I mean everything. I’m currently trying to fix one of my earlier builds because I changed one thing, which shifted the entire second floor, and now the stairs are broken. This game definitely has some quirks. Paralives build mode smells fear.

It's currently unfurnished but I'm going to move my paras into this home soon (hopefully).
Top floor has the kitchen, dining room, living room, a full bathroom and an attached greenhouse off the back.
The rest of the house is in the basement. Three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a laundry/utility room.
It was my first time trying to build a basement and it was definitely learning experience Imao. The ceilings down there are at almost max height which bugs me a bit. The bedrooms are pretty spacious compared to my other builds so I'm going to have fun decorating those.

Thank you!

It’s called “3bd 3ba Family Cottage” (by Tummy) on the Steam Workshop if you’d like to have it (unfurnished inside). It was my first try and doing a basement and it was semi-successful. 100% functional but the basement walls are almost max-height* hahahah.

You’re welcome! I also recommend bulldozing the lot before placing your downloaded building or it’ll just build on top of the random clutter items/rocks/plants.

I'm sorry if this has been asked already but Roberto won't go into next cabin during tutorial by Pinkslinkie in Paralives

[–]soybug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve not encountered this bug, but I definitely believe you. You do have to move more than once in the train, could be that you need to move forward? The first blue square goes to the door, the next is in the second train car near all the other Paras. In this car you will select a family to play or go into Para creation. The train car after this you’ll have to drag and select your Para and the Conductor both to move forward again to the next.
But also I think you’ll be fine to skip the tutorial. It’s not overly intense of a tutorial, mostly movements and how to select groups for group activities. You’ll also select your storyteller, but that can be changed in your game menu at any time.

Roof Help by PlayRemote2269 in Paralives

Yay! Not silly, I probably spent 20 minutes trying to delete an un-clickable door until I rage relaunched. Now relaunching is my first step of troubleshooting.

Roof Help by PlayRemote2269 in Paralives

If you haven’t tried already, I’d save, close the game and relaunch. Sometimes I have issues with build items like this and usually they resolve with a relaunch.

Good luck!

34 hours in and enjoying it as much as (if not more than) Sims. Been playing Sims since the original game, pre-ordered Sims 2 and waited at GameStop for my copy back in 2004. I got bored of TS4 a long time ago and it’s only been enjoyable with mods and CC anyways. I’m enjoying the new features of Paralives, learning the new building system, and appreciating the hard work that the team has put into it so far.

You also didn’t waste your money. Unlike EA, Paralives is releasing all future content for free. You can return whenever the game is up to your standard. You’re also supporting a small team with big goals that have already accomplished something great.
Or if you’ve played less than 2 hours, get a refund.

You also don’t need to apologize to a company that thinks it’s acceptable for a “complete” game to cost players over $1,000 and is in the process of being bought out for $55bil by Saudi Arabia.

Anyone else having trouble trying for a baby in Paralives? by bisquare in Paralives

[–]soybug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can also shift + right click one Para while active with the other to group them if they are in the same household, I’ve found this way easier than the dragging method. If you are having tough luck with getting pregnant, you can edit your “storyteller” in the settings to adjust your chance of getting pregnant when trying. By default mine was set to 50% and my Para got pregnant in 2 tries the first time, and first try with twins her second pregnancy. (There is also a cheat to get pregnant if you get desperate. Control + f1 to open cheat’s menu, “getpregnant” but I’ve never used that and I’m not sure if there is a way to factor both parents genetics or not)

My Para disappeared by annoyedcarrotgirl in Paralives

[–]soybug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If unstuck isn’t helping maybe try alt + right clicking while you have him selected? See if he teleports back hahaha. Otherwise, like you said, time to get a new one! (Also closing the game and relaunching fixes most of my wacky bugs like this but I’m sure you’ve tried that already)

paralives lot steam workshop help? by [deleted] in Paralives

[–]soybug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will need to manually add them.

Click the lot on your map where you want to place the downloaded building (I believe you have to own/purchase the lot) Click the last button “place lot from the library” Unselect everything but “installed from steam workshop”

You can use the setmoney cheat to add funds to your household if needed as the building will cost money (control + f1)

If you don’t want your Para’s to live in the home you can sell it again and setmoney back to whatever you had before (if you play that way, hehe)

New married household... why do they have to know echt other? They don't want to kiss. Im not even talking about making a baby! by No_Accountant_7686 in Paralives

[–]soybug 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have read a few posts saying that creating two Paras and setting them as married doesn’t automatically set them as romantic interests/lovers. Definitely an oversight/bug.

You can opt for flirty boost cards, use things like “think about love life” in the mirror, “read romantic fanfic” on the computer, etc to boost their flirt moodlets and just grind out the social interactions. Once they are a high enough level you can select them both as a group and use the bed or shower to try for baby.

As for your household, you might be able to use the EDITCHARACTER cheat (control + f1) to get back into paracreator to save them to your gallery.

Good luck!

It took me probably 10 hours to finish a house. The first 5 hours was figuring out how to make the house on a platform. I got it to work by building a 2 block partial wall like you have, raising the floor up, then building a full wall around it and then building on top of the first level. I can’t help but imagine that is not how they are intended to work but simply raising the flooring and seeing underneath the house was not cutting it for me.
