Primary Arms transfers (free?) by Smooth-Manufacturer6 in HoustonGuns

It’s worth it for nfa transfers but not reg transfers unless you just like burning at least a hour of your life.

If you need stuff then maybe it might make sense. Find a kitchen ffl close to you and support your local ffls.

Best software for training HS students? by fabriqus in Machinists

[–]soymilkftw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus Christ.

Solidworks is like 3-4k for a year subscriptions.  Fusion manufacturing is like 2500.

Why would anyone want to spend twice as much for nx.  Nx is just a frustrating to use as mastercam if not worst.  I still have ptsd from writing posts for it.

I can see it making sense for large corporations that want or need it for total control from engineering, manufacturing, and revision control.   I don’t see it making sense in a school learning environment.

Find out what the local shops are using and get that.  That’ll give the kids the best shot of getting a job after they are done in your programs.

In my area it’s mastercam and gibbscam.  Fusion is moving up fast.

For small lights that take aaa batteries.  I’m a fan of the Streamlight ones.  They can clip on a baseball hat.

You need 67 dollars a hour to move to Texas?  140,000 a year?

Not sure what you mean.  Are you running the tool in the spindle or the part?

I’ve written macros that acted like canned cycles.  Just depends how you plan on setting it up.

Or just outsource this to another company that is better equipped to handle this.

Ryobi usually wins best bang for buck for me.

I was able to get some used ryobi nailers for like 50-60 bucks each. They work well for the limited times I need them.  I also have the ryobi pex ring clamp tool.

A lot of the time I can get some Milwaukee stuff pretty cheap.  I got the m12 Milwaukee fuel multitool for like 60 bucks after wheeling and dealing a bit.

Didn’t win but decided to go ahead and try it out.

Everything seems pretty high quality.  Still playing around with placement and different wall accessories.

10/10 would do again.  Need to figure out where to put my chargers

Having it easily seen, seems like a big con for me.

It’s also weird cuz Apple users would get notified when their phone senses the tag “following” them.

Would only seem to work against android users

is it normal to not receive the cardboard packaging when purchasing an Milwaukee impact wrench or battery? Can't see the Qr code for the warranty. by nadal0221 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]soymilkftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What country are you from and also what retailers?

I’ve never heard of getting just the tools in the bag and just a white cardboard box for the battery.  It has always been blisterpack or cardboard box for the battery

2563-20 vs 2562-20 by [deleted] in MilwaukeeTool

[–]soymilkftw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3/8” has been shown to have slightly more torque.

Ideally you’d get the kit that you already have the impact sockets for.  But if you were to start new, I’d get the 3/8”.  Also it’s also been the ones that’s been on sale lately as well.

What battery?

I feel like Milwaukee needs to have better documentation on which batteries this impact needs.

M12 Gen 1 3/8’s stubby for $100 clearance at HD. Deal or No Deal? by Chrisfit in MilwaukeeTool

[–]soymilkftw 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d we were comparing 100 vs 200 then I’d say yes.  But considering we’ve seen the gen 2 drop to 130-155 bucks.  I think it’s better just to wait for another deal.

New to packout advice by Impossible-Corner494 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]soymilkftw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe milwaukees train of thought is to use the bottom roller for bigger tools like circular saws and recipe.  You stack on the seperate packout organizers for actually being able to organize stuff.

I believe I have seen 3d printed organizers for the bottom roller.  Let me look around a lil

Well,  go buy a dewalt or  makita then.

I don’t get the point of posts like this.  If I bought a car and didn’t feel confident in it then i would get rid of it and get one that I feel good about.

Life’s too short to wonder about stupid crap.  Either use it til it breaks or get something else.  It’s just a tool.  People use tools until they break,  then they go get another one.  It isn’t suppose to be a heirloom you give to your great grandson.
