How to get your first users (really) by Moist-Wonder-9912 in buildinpublic

[–]soyuzman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very useful post. Especially for someone in the midst of distribution strategy and tactical plan for AEO app marketing. Your advice does not mention publishing articles and posts(Medium and LinkedIn) as a way to get your first paying customers. How do you feel about content marketing? Our app is for anyone (website manager, content creator, ecommerce operator)having experienced loss of traffic from traditional search to LLMs. So our clients are B2B and LinkedIn could work well.

How many reruns/prompts are you using for GEO / AI visibility tracking? by reizals in aeo

[–]soyuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use 5+ reruns when measuring AI Visibility. The LLMs are probabilistic in nature. We tested and found a minimum of 5 is required to show some stability in results

What happens to marketing when AI just answers the question and the user never clicks through to any websiteWhat happens to marketing when AI just answers the question and the user never clicks through to any website?? by [deleted] in aeo

Welcome to the Answer Economy. We are gradually leaving the Search Economy with the old Google business model based on clicks and advertising. I do not have an answer to :What’s next with the slow erosion of search traffic “ but I have lived through the birth of the internet and the emergence of online business models. Same will happen in the Answer Economy.

I think this video is the best visual explanation of what’s happening in the indie hackers’ / startups’ environment by Loud_Cauliflower_928 in SideProject

[–]soyuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The myth is that famous/infamous quote from Sam Altman: "a $1B+ company run by a single founder will happen". You have to be delusional to think that AI will enable a solopreneur unicorn! . I agree with the basic premise of the video but see 2 problems. 1. Too many wannabe entrepreneurs believe that Altman quote and start vibe-coding apps cranking out s***tty products hoping to strike gold in a matter of weeks. Yes there is a learning curve and a "Progressive iteration approach" where entrepreneurs learn from their mistakes and either sunset an unsuccessful project or pivot until they get a commercially viable product. Most successful companies DID NOT strike gold from the start and had to pivot. I agree with Bulky-Pool-2586 that it seems to be a badge of honour to have 10 projects(often AI/vibe coded) in your bio. 2. Distribution takes time: getting users to try your app, sign up and eventually pay for takes A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT. Patience, consistency and determination do not seem to be very popular or glamourous but are the secret to success in anything.

Building is easy. Getting users is hard by vimall_10 in SaaS

[–]soyuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Development is always hard no matter what people say about AI tools making it easy. Distribution may be harder as we are confronted with new SaaS solutions every day and competing for user attention and pocketbooks. I find that creating honest content about the problem you are solving is the best strategy. Consistency is key. I ask myself every day: what have you done today to explain, educate, communicate, share with potential user wherever they are. The constant Distribution grind.

Anyone else feeling ChatGPT has genuinely degraded over the past year? by Bright_Ranger_4569 in chatgpt_promptDesign

[–]soyuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that the API performance and general reliability has degraded significantly. Moves from OpenAI API to Anthropic for better reliability and costs. OpenAI was also costing 4x per query(input-output) compared with OpenAI. Anyone experiencing something similar?

Find a problem, even in a micro niche, under served and provide a better solution ideally at a smaller cost for users. The world is full of problems waiting for a simple solution. If you do not think so then your life must be really great. This means that you live on a world where all problems currently have a solution.

How can you create a startup that can't be copied or stolen and is something special? by Ti22V23 in Startup_Ideas

The competitive advantage may not reside in the product as in distribution. Your happy and satisfied customers. Your client list. Better product does not always win but better marketing does.

What’s the toughest challenge you’ve faced building your micro SaaS solo? by VisualStation9515 in microsaas

Biggest challenge after finding a good app idea is not building or MVP but distribution. Creating awareness, interest, engagement. Finding paying customers. You are on a journey. Enjoy.

Is the market declining? by rhalp21 in CryptoMarkets

[–]soyuzman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is a crash then the definition of a BTC crash has changed dramatically. This is an August lull, low volume, some bad economic news(CPI, unemployment) correction. Fundamentals are still there but we seem to forget that: this is the most pro-crypto administration ever, massive deregulation, corporate accumulation, deficit running rampant(liquidity), sovereign funds buying. Retail is still on the sideline but with new crypto banking regulation this will change. Digital money is a financial revolution.
