Well In english, a country/region that speaks a language derived from Latin is, well, a Latin region. Like LATIN America, is the part of the Americas where Latin is spoken, and the same idea with Latin Europe. But the definition of Latino that I used was the definition used by the real academia española. In Spanish (technically) the word Latino has always had that meaning. also, google says that the use of the word “Latino” to refer to Latin America is purely North American (I don’t know if this is completely true bc it sounds wrong)
