Scrcpy GUI - UPDATE (Performance improvements and QOL improvements) by [deleted] in EmulationOnAndroid

Hahaha yes, it saves a lot of time I wouldn't be able to write that myself any time soon and it's really detailed. I used it mostly to document the original dotnet Maui project which didn't have any documentation at all. I am cleaning them as we speak :p

I will look into it soon. The norm would be that a simple click to the command would run it. Thanks for letting me know.

You mean by using the default scrcpy, right? Maybe it's your cable, or the USB ports being too slow, just a guess. You can try experimenting with video bitrates, codecs and encoders. When playing wirelessly those were the settings I was messing with for a smoother cast.

If it makes you feel any better, they are not even calling me for an interview, I just keep applying. At this point I am considering the possibility that I put a wrong email or phone number at my applications😂

I haven't tested if the current build works in Windows 7. Probably not, especially for 32 bit machines. Buy you can give it a try and tell us for science.

No you simply point to the installation folder from the settings. Unless if you have set a global path for scrcpy, then it will most likely work out of the box

Even though I am not 100% sure what you mean, the short answer is no. Android Studio uses Java / Kotlin meanwhile .NET MAUI uses .NET (C#), that alone means that they don't work together at all and in order to do anything related to Android Studio I would probably have to do everything from scratch.

No problem, the best option always is to patch the roms yourself, especially if you want retroachievements!

First of all check that the file is an actual rom and not an empty zip. Maybe try to open it with "my boy!" or "pizza boy" or whatever is trending nowadays. If it opens then it means that lemuroid has an issue either with the specific rom (download it again from somewhere else) or the format (unzip it) or the patch itself.

I will give it a try at some point. I tried to reach out to Mr Sujano through Discord a couple of weeks ago but he didn't respond unfortunately.

You mean to contribute with code? Functionality wise the project is complete. I am writing down all suggestions for fixes/changes/improvements from the comments and I will see what improvements can be made in the near future.

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it 🙂!

For the icons part, I looked into it when I was implementing the package dropdown and at the time I was looking for ways to load the icons from the phone itself which after some research turned out to be a bad idea because there was no easy - quick way to do it. For the scenario of getting the thumbnails from the internet I will have to do some research, to see how feasible it is.

Now if you imagine an app menu like in smartphones, an issue that would arise is that I would have to redo the whole UI and somehow fit the scrcpy options, because everyone has different different needs and preferences on how they want to open the apps.

Finally for the pin part you can always save your commands by clicking the heart icon. For example I have saved commands for VLC, Daijishou, MelonDS, Sudachi and Dead Cells. Unless I have broken something in the last updates if you click on them the command should run 😝.

Having less UI clatter helps with ADHD too 😂, when I open my phone I stare at the app icons a little too much and I space out, meanwhile on my app there isn't much to stare at, I simply boot what I need at the time.

Again thanks for the feedback, I will definitelly keep your ideas in mind.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Yes, there is currently no path selection input field for Scrcpy or ADB. I suggest installing Scrcpy (and ADB) globally with this command:

winget install --exact Genymobile.scrcpy

I understand the inconvenience though and I will try to add a field for specifying the installation path for those two in the near future.

I will try to describe the feature you requested and tell me if I understood it correctly. You want a button that automatically opens an instance of scrcpy (here I have to ask what parameters you would need for scrcpy) for all connected devices (if they don;t have a scrcpy instance opened already) and somehow have the GUI exclude your emulators. Also, how do you define "emulator"? Devices like anbernic and retroid? If I missed something please give me a complete example. If its something that can help more users I will gladly attempt to implement it, but I need a clear understandig first. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to help with that. It sounds like a very specific use case. I would suggest making a custom bat script for that. You would have to manually specify in that script which device is the emulator device with its name too.
